(Face & Head Shave.)

Greetings,

A relaxing Williams Superlather sunday face & head shave.

It's been a while i last used the gillette guard.Once a month I do a full head shave after my weekly 'no guard' haircut with my wahl hair clippers.

When i first started to fully shave my head and before i had the confidence to shave with a DE or SE razor my razor of choice was the gillette guard which are made in india for Gillette .It's the only cartridge razor i still occasionally use normally for shaving the back of my neck or a quick no fuss shave. My first maiden shave with it felt like i was shaving with a potato peeler due to it's tilting head, but what i really like about is it doesn't clog up due to it been open comb and having a large blade gap, one of the few if any open comb single edge cartridge razors on the market. It's excellent for tight spots and problem areas. My only crit's are because the razor is made of plastic it isn't eco-friendly or recyclable,DE & SE blades are ,and it's very light making it 'Top heavy',but that's expected considering what it costs to make 'you're not going to get a shave from it like a DE or a SE razor granted, but it's not bad, the overall shave performance from this one-blade cartridge razor is very good and easily to adjust to when shaving with it.

I can get normally 3-4 combined face & head shaves from one cartridge/head, which i consider excellent value,Especially for head shaving. It's a ideal travel razor, or when your in need of a quick no fuss presentable face or head shave. What more is needed....

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth presentable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Post Shave Balm.

My face & head is feeling smooth & smelling devine. ;)
;)

Enjoy your sunday, ladies & gentlemen.

Very nice close shave this morning with the Merkur head on an Ikon bamboo handle with a fresh Personna med prep blade. The Merkur 42c is transformed with the heavier handle, providing a better shave feel than yesterday.

Pre: Soap: Pears Original Transparent
Brush: Vintage Vulfix Sevice #3
Soap: NOS Gibbs shaving Cream circa 1950
Blade: Perma Sharp Supreme (5)
Razor: Myatt Uniiversal / Parker Frankenrazor
Post shave: Alum Block, cold water splash, homemade Witch Hazel
Balm: Proraso Red Post shave
Aftershave: Paco R's 1 Million

What a fantastic shave.
The Myatt's have been an itch I needed to scratch, Courtesy of my Parker razors they have been resurrected as Frankenrazors taking new blades. Today was the "universal's" turn, with Gibbs shaving cream Circa 1950's and the 1950's Vulfix with a 1960's Perma sharp supreme (granted on its last legs, however, i was not sure about blade exposure etc.)
A great lather, i did add some Eucalyptus tea tree and Cedarwood oil infused glycerine - 4 drops after the initial lather. what a result.
A very comfy 2 pass shave with some buffing. The smile on my face widening with each stroke.
No Issues and no indications from the Alum stone. the blade is now done though.
A splash of homemade witch hazel as per Glycerine drops, a massage with the Proraso post cream a splash of 1 Million and i am BBS and ready to Visit the mothership.
Well when you are going to see Mam you want to be at your best.
Have a great day all.

Sunday SOTD

Pre - La Toja Mango Soap
Brush - RazoRock 400 Plissoft Noir
Cream - Ach Brito Lavanda
Razor - Rockwell 6C R3
Blade - Gillette Silver Blue
Post - PuIg Quorum Aftershave
EdT - Lacoste Original

A fuss free Sunday morning shave to set me up for the day
Lavanda Cream is a joy to use - it's got it all going on, from scent to performance. Always a good choice.
Using the 6C on plate 3 for my last two shaves has been ok, but plate 4 is my sweet spot as it's that much more efficient and gets the job done without the need for touch ups.
Quorum Aftershave, with it's out-doorsy /spicy notes always takes me back in time.
Finished with Lacoste Original EdT - not that I can smell it yet, as the Quorum is still pumping !

Enjoy your Sunday everyone
