Greetings,

Parker Razor focus month.

Another new eclectic shave set up to start the weekend...I'll be using a variety of my Parker DE razor for my face shaves & the Parker InjRzr for my head /dome shaves for the month duration.

I have carried on for with my revisiting blade focus using the Mers SuperShave X Platinum blade which are manufactured in china made of Swedish steel and paired together admirably with the 87R.

I haven't gave much attention to the Parker InjRzr since it became a member of my humble injector razor collection.

The design of the injector razor is wonderful they are solidly built to hold the blade firm & rigid in the razor head with no movement making the shaving experience feel safe comfortable, and smooth with no blade chatter, and very easy to adjust to finding the right shaving angle....As I have mentioned before they are such comfortable smooth efficient shavers and are now my favourite shaving tools for head shaving.

My recent Goodfellas' Smile Abysso Shaving Soap & matching ASL purchase has reminded me how much i really like Davidoff Cool Water the Ach Brito Mogno Shaving soap is another soap which works so well with this classic aftershave fragrance.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel...A close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.
Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth cool and smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Brush: Omega 10049
Soap: Talbot Shaving Illiahi Ridge
Razor: Rolls
Post: Superdrug Forest Fresh

Partaking in the lather games this year completely new to me but thought it might be good for a giggle. The reason for mentioning is there might be some very odd SOTD posts that may require context otherwise people might think I've lost the plot (more so than perhaps usual). Today's effort was to try a lather you've never tried before and a special challenge with a new format. Not tried either of these before and must say I was pleasantly surprised.

The Talbot was actually quite pleasant and the omega whipped up a cracking lather. The rolls was ok, not great, but ok. I might actually look into trying to put together a good condition kit, so it has definitely piqued my curiosity though.

The superdrug forest fresh was actually really nice, what I didn't notice though was that there wasn't a restrictor, so I ended up with enough in hand (and on the floor) that the scent is probably so intense now that I smell like I work in the world's oldest trade.

Hope everyone has a grand day.

Cheers

Marc

My favorite razor of all time is up for use this week. Every time I use an R41, but especially the GS, I wonder why I have any other razors. For a while all I had was various R41s to be honest.

First time using this blade. Very impressed so far.

I had about 40 hours growth, which after 1 pass was smooth enough to stop. I did go on for a 2nd, almost pointless pass because I was really enjoying this shave.

At risk of my SOTD posts becoming boring or repetitive I still went for the Star hoe today. All been said before in my posts last week but this group of similar vintage hoe razors all perform wonderfully with the GEM Personna blade. This one is no different, 2 passes for a bbs finish.
Time to applaud the other bits of the shave kit, more notably the Stirling Barbershop artisan soap. Beef tallow, scent of coconut and almond plus other oils produced an excellent lather with the Henri & Victoria badger brush. A joy to use and coupled with the Star I couldn’t really ask more from a morning shave. If the Barber’s look on the soap lid is one of smug satisfaction, then it’s me, albeit I don't have a comb-over or a handlebar moustache….not yet anyway!

Have a great weekend fellas!

Ultimate luxury. The Chubby 2 Manchurian feels much bigger than the Chubby 2 synthetic on the face and it is so very soft. With a good loading of soap it is an absolute lather machine. An excellent lather and a super comfortable and close shave in two passes. I finished with the superb Hibernia splash. Shaving can’t get much better than that.

My Shave today consisted of...
Prep Proraso preshave balm
Brush Highlander white synthetic brush.
Soap Stirling Haverford.
Razor Massume Titanium with Massume SB with Nodachi cap.
Blade Dorco Prime.
Aftershave Balm Nivea post shave balm.
Aftershave Haverford.
Yesterday I tried the Massume Cap with the Massume SB so today it was time to see how much difference the Nodachi cap makes.
This definitely improves the performance as I found yesterday's shave a little too mild.
The Stirling is slick and wonderful, it's fast becoming a favourite of mine.
All in all a good shave and ready for the day ahead.
Have an amazing day ahead everyone.

A really nice face lather from brush n soap then 3 full passes for an easy comfortable BBS finish.
Nice that!

  • GSB (2)
  • Vulfix 404
  • Bee Clean Peppermint Soap
  • Proraso Green splash & balm
It's the third use of the Bee Clean Peppermint Soap, and I'm struggling. It's just not for me. Quality ingredients no doubt, and made by an independent soap maker, which I love. Sadly, not doing the business, and goes to the back of the cupboard. I see a lot of love for the soap on here & well worth a try!
