SOTD : Saturday 06th February to Friday 12th February 2021.

Straight shave number 9 and 4th full face shave with across and against with touch ups. Absolutely beautiful shave getting much better at navigating round the chin now with across and against leaving very little irritation, also getting much closer above the lip in less passes and zero irritation really happy with this shave. Looking forward to the next already

Prep: Cold, wet flannel
Pre: Proraso Green
Soap: Proraso Green
Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia 24mm
Razor: Vintage Gillette Tech
Blade: Wilkinson Sword Black (1)
Post: Alum, Witch Hazel, Nivea Balm

What else is a gentleman to do as the temperature drops and the snow begins to softly fall than jump on the current bandwagon of trying cold shaving Proraso seemed the natural accompaniment for this exercise, and I subbed the Fat Boy for the lighter Tech. Are black and white packaged Wilkinson blades different? Any thoughts welcome....
I will admit to a lack of confidence, as the chilled skin did not seem to provide the same level of feedback (although the audible side was elevated.) The finish is decent, and when the weather improves I will happily include cold shaves in my routine rotation. However there was no Damascene moment where I became a full-time convert, and thus l shall continue to revel in the hug of a warm synthetic brush loaded with a temperate lather most days Have a good week, gents.

Hi Chris,
Only just seen your post. I am sorry to hear that your Dad has finally lost his long battle to recover. The words of your Grand Daughter were a lovely way of responding to the News and must have made you smile.
My Condolence to you and the Family, hope the weather improves so you can cross The Pennines to attend to the myriad of things you need to attend to.
Regards-Mike

Omega S10065 Syn
Monsavon u lait
ATT SE1- Windrose handle
Schick Proline [ 4 ]
Lea A/S Balsam balm

This brush has been hiding away in the upstairs Bathroom which I do not use. A real cheap which initially is a bit scritchy until the lather builds up, I think I got it as a travel brush but have replaced it with a RazoRock Syn. Spent some time on a Pre Shave wash as my skin is still rather dry, and the Heno De Pravia glycerine does improve the skin.
The Shave was quite good and I got a more than decent finish. In order to improve my skin condition I used a Balm rather than the usual After Shave.

Sorry for your loss

4 for Feb
Shower
Pre: Cold water face wash with Wickams pre shave soap
Brush: Simpson Duke 2 Best Badger
Soap: Signature Soap Danum
Razor: Blackland Tradere
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3)
Post shave: Cold water Rinse, TC's infused Witch Hazel
Balm: Barts Balm Cinnamon & Patchouli Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Signature Soap Danum

Now that was a nice shave.
I had a shower to soften the bristles then started the shave routine with a cold water face wash with the Wickams pre shave - Brrr!
The Soap took a little bit to get going with the cold brush and then it just sprang to life, wonderful.
I completed 3 passes WTG / XTG & ATG today using a standard shave angle and they were really comfortable, the cold water rinse between passes keeping it very interesting.
The blade seems to have really settled in so will be used until its dead.
A nice post shave routine leaving me BBS and so comfortable today.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and I think you have probably been through all this with me. I did manage the Pennines and over at dad's place this moment getting on with sorting things out.

And @udrako likewise, many thanks
