SOTD SAT 30 JUNE - FRI 6 JULY

No pre-shave
St. James Founder's Reserve cedarwood and clarysage
Progress on 2, 1 with Polsilver Super Iridium (4th shave) and Chinese Schick (also 4th shave)
The Polsilver SI felt nice and smooth in this razor without the accompanying soreness I sometimes get with other razors. But after the second pass it was clearly on the way out. Finished off with the Chinese Schick which was also retired after a pass. Close and not uncomfortable. Had better but certainly good.

Monday

white proraso pre post
NF 2213
Nannys Yushu soap
Merkur Hd + super personna (1)
Thayers superhazel
proraso ASB

result: only 1 pass today, but was tidy enough for work. quick and comfortable.

Today's shave

Dove soap/Hot face cloth prep
Gillette 50s ball ended tech
Feather blade
Taylor's sandlewood shaving soap
Kent BK2 brush

Result BSS

I did try for a nother go with the blue blade, but my beard has killed it off.
So the twinplex blade stropper works ..... sort of.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep;

vintage Marshall Fields rebranded Simpsons best
1958 Executive/Personna74 (NOS)
Klar Kabinett SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Malizia 'Vetyver' EdT

This very sharp old blade whacked two days worth of whiskers without any effort at all. No feeling of the blade on my face......shaving mostly by sound. Very nice!

BBS results,

Martin

Sunday 1st July 2012

Prep: Shower
Brush: Omega 10810 Boar
Soap: Palmolive (milled)
Razor: Edwin Jagger DB89L
Blade: Feather
Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive Balm

A less than perfect shave, super smooth but tender, especially my neck. i have come to the conclusion that Feather blades and my face will never be close friends!

The cheap Omega brush has a 50mm loft and quite a wide knot and is very stiff. It is only a couple of weeks old so I am hoping it will improve. It needs to!

Regards
Dick.

Monday morning! Made it through the weekend. Have some guilty feels today... Yes, used a DE rather than a Straight:)-(! Why. Wanted to use the Osage Rub this AM and didn't want to feel like my face was on fire for 4hrs! I did set the DE at 4.5 to feel manly!
[attachment=5055][attachment=5056]

Razor: Merkur Progress (stated at 1.5 went to 4.5)

Alum- not really needed.

Balm: Nivea
Nice mild shave. BBS after moving to the 4.5.

Ahem - Nice towel!!

Nice shave Barlines, sorry about the MDC, it's the greatest stuff and I'll use mine tomorrow (if I don't forget)!
Prep: Hot shower
Brush: SOC 2b
Razor: Joseph Rodgers "The Norfolk razor"
Soap+AS: La Toja Manantiales
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

What a nice razor! :D First shave with it and very close to "uberclean" (purest and highest level in the shaving nirvana book). Nice gear from La Toja too, the AS is new as well and was very nice too, indeed.
