Afternoon, gents.

Saturday:

Prep: Gillette Hydrating (Poundland)
Razor: Yuma (Bestshave £1.32 at the moment)
Blade: Super Max Blue Diamond (1) (Bought several hundred for a ridiculous price)
Brush: Wilkinson (a small, scrubby thing from Wilkinson the cheap place for 40 or 50p)
Shave soap: Palmolive stick (a couple mashed together in a tub - £1 in total)
A/S: Addiction - Fever (from Saver £1.99 for 50ml and a can of body spray)

Just for a change, I'm going to try some Cardi shaving. Cardis (natives of Ceredigion) are well known in Wales for their prudence with money - that's the nice way of putting it. So I thought I'd try shaving like a local might to see what the quality of the shaves can be and also how much pleasure they give. I will, of course, push the blade to its limits. No throwing it away after a mere seven days. Jiw, jiw, no!

The shave itself wasn't bad: the brush gave me enough lather for a couple of passes and Palmolive is Palmolive. The very light Yuma does its job pretty well and gave me a pretty close, visually good shave. The EJ I've been using is much smoother and more pleasant to use, though. The aftershave,which is described as
A fresh energising top note of green bergamot and green tea enhanced with mandarin peel which is balanced with rich vetivert and cedar supported by the warmth and comfort of the base of precious skin musk would probably smell great if these notes persisted more than a few minutes. At least one could wear any cologne or Eau de Toilette without fear of clashing, I suppose. After the good Prof's aftershaves, this is just terribly weak for me. Still the job got done without mishap. We'll see how this experiment goes.

Thanks, LOL, don't worry I don't think Martin could possibly make any nasty comments about that, but then again.... I think he has a chalk board......he's no doubt been keeping score.... For revengeful purposes .

Jeeeez, you guys are giving the newer members a bad impression of me. Mikey, I won't try and tempt you with how great the Fatboy shaves. I mean what the hell, a razor's a razor. Nah, no reason to bother with one of those clunky old things.

John, as far as that list goes.......there really isn't one. Nope, none at all.......not even a tiny one line....nada. Zero.

Uncle Mikey, one thing I WOULD like to mention is using an injector for your head instead of that stooopid other SE razor of yours. Yeah, the adjustable injector dialed in juuuust right with a sharp blade would most likely be 5-6 times better than the junk you now use. Yes, I'm positive of that!!!!! I have the perfect set up ready to be sent out to test drive. Use the pm feature now! I might as well toss a Fatboy on the package, since it takes up very little space and has almost no weight.

Hold up now Marty boy, I've got one of those gem razors, in fact I have two, but the second one has yet to arrive....yet.

Yes the fatboy is good ...in fact it's DE razor porn, but those gems are a bit more.....Manley,....a bit like a straight razor....I think as it's Christmas we could pop a straight in the post... You need one because it will make you a complete ....as a wet shaver :icon_cheesygrin:

As for the list...I'm glad it's only small wouldn't want people to think you was vindictive :dodgy:

Mikey? Are you there? Haven't heard back from you yet about this very important head shaving improvement. You ok?

So I figure on sending out that perfect injector razor/blade combo this week. Of course I will include a Fatboy to sample.......no reason not to with that savings on the shipping. Plus as you might know, it's the best damn DE razor in the whole world....ask anyone. Sounds good eh?

Then, I might as well toss in maybe 6-8 old straights laying around the arsenal for you to play with. Bunch of names you might have heard of, and all seem like they just need a tune up and cleaning.

Yes, I'm here ... Cheers brother M, but are you sure, those pesky injectors seems so delicate and fragile and I seem to have a faint memory of them not being so nice to hold... You almost had me there, for a minute, until I remembered the handles, man that was a close one.

On a serious note though, with your talent and experience I don't think it would take very long to use a straight. Seriously. We joke around a lot and it's good fun, but I would really be happy to help you out with a shave ready straight and all the back up you need. Why not try it, if it doesn't work out, you have at least tried ... Yes, do it Martin! PM me your addy and I'll get one ready (do you prefer a larger or smaller one?).

This handle is one of the best designed ones and would fit you perfectly. There now, that's taken care of.

So because of my talent and experience, learning to use a straight would be easy. Why didn't I see that before? Of course it would!

Heh, nice try. I loved the idea of giving me a choice of blade size......assuming the sale as you did. You remind me a little bit of me.

Result: not bad for my first attempt with the Futur (thanks again Vinny) couple of nicks but this thing is a beast. What a noise as well.

So John, you see where Mikey says the first time's free? He's only talking about the financial part and not the mental aggravation costing me my peace of mind. Plus, he would have some kinda unholy control over me, which would be bad.

Yeah, my post didn't work on him at all.....the guy knows all the tricks. I shoulda included exotic names and plenty of pics! Anything to try and hook him in.

Yes Micky is cold as stone with that hard sale's men approach, You know he has no concept of the poor sale's man's feelings at all.
No he's is like a terminator to be honest, even if you did manage to sell him something, god only knows what would happen if there was something wrong with it :icon_eek:
