SOTD Sat 14/07/12 - Fri 20/07/12

This morning:

Prep: Face wash, Imperial Leather bath soap, cold
Razor: Feather Artist Club RG (wood), Pro blade (20)
Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 in best
Soap: D R Harris Marlborough
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger

I think using the other straights has improved my angle, maybe. Regardless of the reason, this blade seems to be immortal. An impeccable shave.

If I go to using this in a seven-day rotation I could end up changing the blade twice a year...

Merkur 34
Laser stainless (1)
New Forest 2213
La Toja soap stick
Witch hazel
Proraso blue balm

Floris Elite

####ing dreadful blade. Lesson well and truly learned. My face feels a though someone's taken sandpaper to it. No thanks.

Thursday
Prep: Hot shower
Brush: VIe Long, silvertip (cheers Peter! :D)
Razor: Gotta 120
Cream: Vulfix English Rose
AS: La Toja
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

What an edge Neil put on this razor and he always seems to do it (every 20 or so for me) and this brush's a nice one, soft and floppy (but not to much for bowl lathering and painting strokes on the face). Great shave! I'm on my way to shave now, but haven't decided what to use yet, now my holiday starts and it feels GREAT :)

I used to regularly get 20+ shaves from Feather AC blades and always assumed no-one would believe me.

I found they would start to hit their stride at around the 7 shaves mark so I used to run mine through an old whisky cork a few times to dull them to about that level.

Personna Red
Neep box wood silvertip

My re-acquaintance with the EJ continues to go well. It was smooth with a Feather. Even smoother with the Personna. Very nice.
