Ever so slightly draggy shave. Duff blade or rushed prep? I'm not sure. Result was okay though.

A new blade today for me. The Personna Blue Medical Prep.

Prep: Hot Shower
Cream: TOBS Eton College
Brush: Neep Aztec 29mm Extra Silvertip
Razor: Feather AS-D1
Blade: Personna Blue Med Prep
A/S: TOBS Eton College

A lovely smooth shave with this blade, I can see whyt people rate it so highly. I wonder how long it will last me, I've read that this blade outlasts any others.

Wednesday:

Morning all,

Hot shower prep
Proraso Pre/Post White
TOBS Jermyn Street cream
DE89 with 7 O'Clock Yellow/ Astra SP
Vulfix 404
Barbershop Bay Rum A/S
Nivea ASB

First Pass felt really draggy, I think i've pushed the Yellow a bit too far. Changed for an Astra SP for second pass and touch up's..much better!
Thank god for Steve's Bay Rum !!!!

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep;

vintage butterscotch Ever Ready badger
'Webly'/Wilkinson Super Sword Edge (NOS)
Lentheric SS
Barbershop Bay Rum AS
Givenchy 'Xeryus' EdT (black bottle)

BBS results,

Martin

Is it Wednesday already..?

Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Shaving Cream
MÜHLE Silvertip Fibre 21mm
MÜHLE R89
Polsilver Super Iridium (thanks flip-68)
Nancy Boy Replenishing Shave Gel

Tried a 3 pass WTG shave today to see if it made a difference to skin irritation. Socially acceptable shave but I messed up the 'trouble spot' on the side of my neck. First time with the T&H cream (apart from a sample I tried years ago) and I'm reasonably satisfied with it. My skin didn't react to it, it lathers easily, very subtle scent that I can barely smell. In performance I'd rank it with Taylor's Jermyn St cream but as the Taylor's is cheaper I doubt I'll buy T&H again when this pot's used up. The Polsilver blade was sharp enough and smooth but I had over a weeks worth of stubble so I'll reserve judgement for now.

Wednesday 31st October

Hot Shower and Facial Scrub
3P Pre/Post cream
Feather Artist Club SS
Semogue SOC 2 Band in Cherry
Vulfix Lavender Cream
Simple Facial Toner
Lavender Water and Organic Shea Butter
Yardley Citrus and Wood EDT
Morgans Classic Pomade

BBS with 2 passes and a touchup.

Not sure what happened today, left with a neck like a plucked chicken and quite sore.

Gillette 58 aluminium
Gillette Yellow (2)
Semogue OC Boar
Arko Soap
Sudocreme
Nivea Creme

Getting into my vintage English Gillettes, might need a Simpsons brush to match.

Wednesday:

La Toja cream
Semogue SOC Boar
Gillette Slim Adjustable
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Pinaud Clubman

Very nice shave. Went back to cold water shaving this morning after a couple of weeks of using warm water. I found it easier to get a BBS shave this morning. I think I prefer the cold water, may revise that come December mind!

Prep - Hot Towel, Palmolive S/S
Razor - Muhle '11 R41
Blade - Astra S/P
Brush - Duke 3
Soap - Monsavon
Cold Rinse/ Witch Hazel/ RazoRock Aftershave Wax

my Monsavon just arrived, so I used it with the 'Duke'.... bloody fantastic... this stuff was literally flying off my brush as I applied it to my face.... IMHO Monsavon is up there with 'The Fat'..... fantastic cushion, glide and protection... my face feels great. In fact I really enjoyed that shave!! Happy bunny. ;)

Prep: Hot shower

Tonight

Cream: Real Shaving Co
Brush: Turkish No6 Horse
Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable (set at 7 WTG 5 XTG and 4 ATG)
Blade: Derby(1)
Post: Alum & Prof Blightys Punchinello

Result: Nice, clean, mild shave. Just what I needed now that my chin has recovered. Not used this razor since I started DE shaving and it's a good razor, especially if you want something a little milder. Not as good as a slim though.

Palmolive shaving cream
Henk walnut silvertip
Toggle on 1 with Ri Mei Chinese PIF blade

This Rim Me blade is pretty good. Previous experience with similar blades tells me to bin it after this one great shave.
