My Sunday Shave

Gillette Fat boy
Feather Blade
Simpson Berkley Badger Brush
Proraso Pre - Post Cream
Tobs Sandalwood Shaving Cream

After a nice hot shower it was a pleasure to load up the razor with a new feather blade, 2 passes later and a super smooth face finished off with some Proraso post cream all I need to get myself now is a decent aftershave I still can decide which one to buy.

Sunday am.

Wifes still in bed, get up early tempted to make some bread. Mystery icing concoction in my bread mixing dish, internal debate for while, not sure if this icing stuff is washing up or important, decide not to risk it and devote a good 20 mins to a sunday shave.

Pre: Cigarette and coffee while wandering around the garden.

MWF
NF Best Badger
Mystery ERN Straight as brought back to life by Andy / Arrowhead
Slight chin nick, so cheap turkish alum block
OL Bay Rum with lemon and peppercorn
Nivea Moisturiser

Only had a two pass shave yesterday due to a busy day and an issue getting out of bed. Full three pass today, with a lot of dense stubble to get into. Not much drama, nice shave. Slight chin nick as mentioned above. BBS.

Also found old comb from early gillette travel set while looking for japanese 1200 stone to give the ern a quick 6 lap tuneup.

Sunday:
Merkur Progress
Personna, Red pack
Semogue 830
Geo F Trumper Rose soap
D R Harris Pink aftershave
L'Artisan Voleur de Roses EDT

Haven't done one of these for ages so here goes..........

Last nights shave:-

Shower.

Soap - Mitchells Wool Fat

Brush - Men-U brush

Razor - Bluebeards Revenge Scimitar

Blade - Wilkinson Sword, then changed mid-shave for a 7 O'Clock yellow

First pass WTG, then changed the blade to do the XTG and ATG passes.

Hot and cold rinses and then on with the Nivea Sensitive post shave balm.

A splash of D. R. Harris sandalwood after-shave before meeting friend for a drink.

All in all a wonderfully smooth shave!

I really must sort out my Picasa account and put some moody shaving gear pictures on here!

Prep: Hot shower

Razor: Hachiken, Japanese frameback
Cream: T&H Indian Lime
AS: Tobs no 74 + Lucky Tiger, face tonic
Edt: Geo F Trumper, Eucris
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Uberclean :D

Fantastic shave, but my face needs some rest soon, every morning I think I should skip a day, but there's so much fun and so many blades to try ... Had to add some Lucky Tiger today though, to calm things down (not very common for me).

Tenth shave from this blade. No nicks or weepers, but if felt like it was dragging a bit, so I've retired it after ten. I wish there were new blades this good.

A rushed shave this morning but neither the less a good shave.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
FH Tech-Stahly frankenrazor/Feather
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Barbershop Bay Rum AS
Jacomo de Jacomo EdT (nice oakmoss/patchouli blend)

Man, this Stahly head is really something when it's loaded with a Feather blade. Truly a perfect mild razor/sharp blade combo for me, although I'm thinking about changing to a heavier handle. Yeah, a lirttle extra weight would be nice and shouldn't screw up the balance.

BBS results,

Martin

Saturday:

Hot water
NF 2201
Mama Bears lavender face lathered
Slim twist with a 365
Barbershop bay rum
Clubman bay rum

I'd forgot how 'ruddy good Mama Bear's soaps are, easily lather like a beast and provide a great slippy lather. I'll certainly be investing in more of these, her soaps are up there with the Italian soft soaps for me.

I've also started using the clubman bay rum as a body spray, as my face has decided to set itself on fire when it gets near it. You'll smell me coming.

Sunday:

Cold water
NF 2201
Monsavon face lathered
Slim twist with a 365
Barbershop bay rum
Clubman bay rum
