6/8 Air Brand
Arko stick
Simpsons Commodore X1
Boots Distilled Witch Hazel
Jasper Conran Man AS Balm
Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Thursday Night:

    • - Cold water wash, Gül Suyu massage rinse & cold water soakin'
      - EJDE89L with Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow
      - Yardley of London Gold - Elegant shave cream
      - Le Tuft Cobalt Blue
      - Lemon Thayers' Witch Hazel
      - Kartopu Limon as AS[/list:u][/list:u]

      x2 passes & polishing

The Yardley Elegant has 'liquid silicone' in it or extra slip, and it seems to add a bit more armour too. Sadly, this cream seems to have the intial sensations of what I've termed: 'perfume burn', dry tight itchy and the longer it's on the skin ('more frequently it gets used' is also a usual factor) the worse it gets. Will have to see how things go with it...

Thursday.

Hot face wash and hot towel
Trumpers lime skin food.
Nanny's eucalyptus soft soap/ NF2201
56 Super speed 7 o'clock yellow (2) 4 passes plus touch up.
Alum/ proraso

I don't normally shave 2 days on the bounce, but couldn't help myself. Wanted to try the Nanny's Eucalyptus
The 7 o'clock was definitely smother today, and i found it help to may the stroke slightly faster and less tentative. Not a perfect shave but still very close, a little razor burn under right jaw line. achieved by one too many touch up passes trying to get a rough area, But certainly nothing major. The lather was better today, started with a little too wet a brush yesterday. Lesson learnt. DFS

And Dad is getting what for his birthday???

Thursday, 09-09-10.

Soap from Alepo - Rooney 1/3 Silvertip - Merkur Slant - Astra green #1 - Pecksniff's Citrus shavin soap - Alum block - Astringent Thayers Lemon - ASL La Toja + ASB Institut Karité.

Friday

MWF wash
BHFT & Astra (2)
Tabac & 404
Alum
Tabac AS

Strange, seem to have lost the ability to shave back handed :? I could blame the tools and say that one side of the blade is duff, so...... I think i know what is wrong, one side of the blade is obviously duff, will try a new one tomorrow ;)

Tabac? Tabac is still glorious, how i have missed it this week :D

Friday morning
Pre: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest 2201
Razor: Le Grelot 6/8
Soap: Monsovane
AS: Old Spice Musk, Shulton blend
Strop: Neil Miller
Resut: Very clean :D
Nice one, didn´t get the Monsovane exactly right, but everything else was super!

Razor: Rolls Razor
Brush: Simpsons Case
Cream: Bayrum
AS: Benjamin's Bayrum Menthol

SPM_A2917.jpg

Been awhile since I've used Bayrum AS forgot how much Benjamin's stung.

Wring knot. 2 min. 12 pass. Rework 1st-2nd passes. Thinned at 10th pass. Shed once. To date 2.

I'm really liking this Case-it's very scrubby and like the Wee Scot it's not at all prickly and it's dense.

Friday

Futur
Gillette Platinum (Swede)
New Forest 2201
Trumper's Rose Soap
Clinique Post Shave Soother
Czech & Speake #88

Swede - that's more like it!

Ian

Friday - shave 14 of the new adventure, cheapest shave possible

Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic, plastic cheapie
Blade: Derby Extra, 4th day with this blade
Soap: Palmolive Stick, cheapest in the shop
Brush: 'Pure Bristle', free- found at the back of the bathroom cabinet

My best / closest / smoothest shave yet, but one small cut. Doh!

Thursday Night

Gillette Sensor
Fido 2201
KMF Key Lime cream
Puig Agua Lavanda cologne

Easy-peasy-two-pass-shave.

I bought a lovely fat metal Sensor handle from Trumpers ages ago (£10 -- thanks for the tip-off, Pete), but have yet to use it. (That's how lazy I am.) Not that it would make a massive difference to the quality of the shave. The best cart razor, IMO.

I can't make my mind up, At the moment it could be the ToBS Eton that i can't get on with. Yours are soooooo much better.
Does that make me a bad person

I've only used it a couple of times to try it.
