Monday

NF silvertip
Nannys Ice and Slice with goat
EJ bull mastiff + GST (1)
Natural Limes A/S
Natural Limes Balm

2 passes + touch ups, smooth and no irritation.

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: New Forest, Tubby 2
Razors: Revisor + Popular
Soap: Cade
AS: Ogallala, Limes and Peppercorns
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D

It´s a very nice shaver for the head, the Popular 47. I traded my other head shaver, but this one is very good too, a little more bite but still not scratchy. The Revisor was sweeet too :D

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
1958 Executive/Gillette Stainless Steel (vintage)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Creed 'Original Cologne'

Had quite a nice shave this morning when I tried another new to me vintage blade. This one's dated K1, which means it's from 1965. Probably one of the first Stainless blades Gillette produced, with no coating on these. Very smooth and sharp........another blade I could use every day without a problem.

BBS results,

Martin

My solidarity goes to the people of Norway, who suffered an horrendous attack. Fanaticism, whichever excuse supports it, is a evil for every civilized society.

Some badger thing
Racer (7)
Body Shop Maca Rooy Shaving Cream
Real Shaving Co ASB

Still a decent shave on 7th go, never got that far with one before but definitely on its last legs.

Monday

1948 Gillette Aristocrat
Shaving Shack Israeli blade
Henk's Royal Leather
Kent BK4
L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra-Energetic Post Shave Balm
Pinaud Citrus Musk AS

Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap
Musgo Real Shave Cream
Gillette Super Thin
Gillette 1938 Senator
RazoRock Alum
Musgo Real After Shave Balsam (Balm)

Love the scent of the Musgo products - this was my first try with them. Super thin gave a nice shave, but not as close as the 7 O'clock Black Ninja....

Saturday, Sunday and tonight:

Hot shower
La Toja stick, face lathered
Body Shop synthetic brush
Feather Portable
Gillette 7OC Yellow (1,2,3)
GFT Coral skin food

Away for the weekend, so using the current travel rig. Saturday was clean but needed styptic. Sunday was not particularly enjoyable but yielded no carnage and was very very clean in the end. Today was similar - lots of tugging and skipping on the trickier neck passes, but (to my astonishment) zero actual blood on an exploratory tissue at the end. Another clean shave, and quite a lot better than it felt.

On the up side, the brush does dry instantly.

Not sure why I'm getting less enjoyable shaves with this combination - maybe this razor is simply better with a different blade. Will persist a few more days, anyway.
