I very rarely shave everyday, I have always had a good growth, but I like giving my skin that day off, so today was unusual given that I shaved yesterday, now onto the shave, well there's no surprise with this setup, you can almost guarantee a BBS shave. Until we meet again good day to you all gentlemen.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields badger
Popular/Iridium
The Soap Opera Himalaya SS
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Caron 'Yatagan' EdT (1970s version)

Third and final time using the Popular. Another squeaky clean shave that was more comfortabe than most OC types on my face. Very similar to my Sheraton, which is in my rotation.

BBS results,

Martin

Hot Towel prep.
Beejay Brush (Ikon knot)
MDc
Feather Artist Club RG
Trumpers Sandal Wood Skin Food
First time in using the razor for a while, realised I need to use this more. Good shave, a slight nick under my nose. Face feels a bit sore, but I remember this from the last time I used a blade for the 1st shave in this razor, but the skin food soon calmed that down.

To all my fellow noobs, nights like tonight are when it is worth going through the learning curve.

Sunday Evening

Hot sponge and MWF prep
Nanny's Citrus Zinger
BR Privateer
Gillette HD 500
7 o'clock Sharpedge (3rd use)
Witch Hazel
Trumper Lime Skin Food

Half an hour. Washed my face with MWF then put a bit on the brush before lathering the zinger.

Took my time. 3 passes (with, across and against) plus some buffing and j-hooking at the end on the troublesome spots.

The result? Probably the best shave I've ever had. No blood and no irritation.

So far in my journey I'm finding the vintage Gillette's are my go to razors.

Thank you Shave Gods, thank you. :icon_mrgreen:
