Tuesday:

Hot towl
Gillette Slim adjustable
Gillette 7 O' Clock Double Edged Razor Blades (Yellow box)
Pure Badger Shaving Brush
Blue beards revenage shaving cream
Witch Hazel (distilled from Boots chemist)
Blue beards revenage aftershave balm.

Felt like a change today and enjoy the mildness of the slim, I had not used the blue beards until today, the cream lathers really well, the balm stung a little going on for a few seconds but was then ok.

Did three passes, WTG, XTG and ATG. Nice results but I feel I need to turn up the slim, may try setting three tomorrow and slowly see how much difference and feel it gives me till I know what works best for me.

over all good shave.

James Bronnley Soap on a Rope,
Palmolive SS,(Stick grated into an old Kent wooden bowl.)
Simpson Duke 3 in Best,
Dovo 5/8,
Razorock Alum,
GFT Coral SF,
James Bronnley EdT.

Grating the Palmolive was a great move......(No pun intended!)
What was already one of the best lathering soaps there is, is now amazing! :D

The Duke 3 is Amazing!! :D

I see a theme here?

Truth be told a rather amazing shave this morning! :D :D

Tuesday

Shark Super Chrome Blade
New Forest 2201 Brush

Alum
Bulldog asb

Can't leave the PS soap alone.

Tuesday

Some days, everything just seems to come together !

Shower followed by washing face with aqueous cream

Hot flannel 1-2 mins
Vulfix 404 bodger
BS Macca Root Shaving Cream
Merkur 33
Derby (2)
Aqueous cream and Ogallala Bay Rum with Sandalwood

Having introduced the hot flannel on a daily basis, the whole shaving routine is even more enjoyable. The "bodger" helps create simply stacks of shaving lather - enough for many passes - and the Macca Root is very cushioning and slick. Second shave with the Derby - WTG, XTG, a little ATG under the chin and touch ups. TBH, I wasn't expecting much from the Derby, having read the variable reviews, but it was a really smooth job, no nicks or any irritation. I'm beginning to think that the Merkur razor can cope with any blade and doesn't turn the blade into a face-biting, ninja attack. 'Course it could be that my technique is beginning to improve, but I don't really want to believe that in case it makes me lose my humility

Great start to the day :p - shaving times are reducing too [much to my wife's delight! ] Now done in 20 mins - in and out of bathroom.

Paul

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage Marshall Fields whitecap
1956 Diplomat/Iridium
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Jacomo de Jacomo EdT (think patchouli/oakmoss)

Excellent shave using some of my favorite items. Poifect!

BBS results,

Martin

Tuesday

My last shave for work for some time as I'm leaving today.

Bath

Goodfella SB "Michelle"
Rapira Platinum Lux (1)
Simpsons Wee Scot
T&H Luxury Soap
WTG - XTG - XTG + touch ups
Thayers Unscented Toner
Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food

Thought I'd give these blades a try. Not a sharp for me as the Voskhods, but they are smoothish. Preferred the Rapira Swedish Supersteels on the first shave but they gave way by the second.

Now the brush. What a beast this little thing is. It gave me enough lather for two passes then needed just a little reloading for the final pass and touch ups. Now I haven't got on with the T&H soap but the Wee Scot made a lovely easy lather from it.

Nice close shave today :)

TTFN. . .

Tuesday
Gillette Fusion ProGlide
Simpson Tulip T2 Super
D R Harris Almond shaving soap
Blenheim Bouquet aftershave*
Blenheim Bouquet EDT

*OK, not strictly true. Took 50ml out of my 500ml bottle of EDT and diluted it with water.

TUESDAY :shave
Razor: No name 'Made in England' Ball end OC
Blade: Astra Platinum
Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L
Soap: TOBS Lavender

Smooth as a babies.................................

It makes a hell of a difference to the shave when you use a great brush like this one, doesn't it?

It really does. Only prob now is I can't help thinking about a Chubby 1 or 2 or even Peters Tubby 2!!

Damn human nature!
