S.O.T.D Saturday 2nd March to Friday 8th March 2013

Saturday 2nd March

Hot Shower and Facial Scrub
Shavex Cream
CJB Japanese Style Razor/Feather Super Professional
Muhle HJM Brush in Black Fibre
TOBS Coconut Cream
Witch Hazel
Organic Shea Butter
Old Spice Musk AS
Morgan's Classic Cream
Brian's Own moustache wax

An excellent 2 pass shave.

Second shave with my Gem Clog-Pruf.

Hot flannels
Proraso pre-shave
Speick soap / Kent BK2
Gem clog-Pruf / gem coated SE blade (2nd use)
Cold flannel
DR Harris Marlborough aftershave
Proraso pre/post later on!

Pretty good shave today - much closer this time (but not yet smooth) however, the rawness reminds me of my early days of DE shaving. Part of me wonders whether these blades are rough compared to the Rapiras I've been using but in reality I know that I'm lacking the requisite lightness of touch at the moment.

All in all, I'm enjoying the novelty, but I'll have to be back on the EJ89 for my daily shaves during the week. I couldn't have an SE shave every day (yet!)

Evening, gents.

Saturday:

Prep: Claus Porto Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Yuma
Blade: Shark SS (1)
Brush: Bestshave No. 6
Shave soap: Palmolive
A/S: Pashana Bay Rum
Cologne: Giorgio Beverley Hills

Excellent first shave of the week.

Having not posted for the last 3 months or so due to the known IP access issue from South Korea, I'll share s few shots here (if you allow me of course).

Edwin Jagger boar
Mama Bears Creme Brulee shaving soap
Merkur 37c

SFH Aramis moisturising balm

Decent. Bit more sore initially than yesterday's Super Thin but not bad and settled down quickly. One chin nick

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
1958 Executive/Feather
Murdock SC (thanks Carl)
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
Aramis 'Havana' EdT (old juice)

First time trying this UK produced shaving cream and it'll take another shave or two before I know what's up. Performance was good, although the lather itself wasn't that great looking, possibly caused by user error. The scent is pretty unusual......lots of gardenia(?) if you like that note. Anyway, it was nice of Carl to send out some to test drive so we'll see how that goes.

BBS results,

Martin

First time I use this custom brush, and I think it makes a good amount of lather without effort, hehe:
