Prep: Hot wash with dove soap.
Soap: J. Petermans 1903 concentrated shaving cream.
Brush. The Grooming Co. Synthetic Badger.
Razor: 1966 L1 Gillette Super Speed flare tip.
Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux #3
Post: Malizia Uomo Veyver Balm.

Very nice 3 pass WTG, XTG & ATG, the scent from the 1903 is fantastic, I have never come across a better scent (YMMV) but I love this stuff, well worth the trouble it took me to get some, I am going to get some of the 1903 Balm at some point, maybe for my birthday in a few weeks time. For now the Malizia Uomo Vetyver compliments the 1903. One thing i have found about the 1903 is no matter what aftershave or balm I wear, the 1903 always seems to penetrate it and i get fain whiffs of it throughout the day... did I mention I like 1903?
The Rapira blade was starting to grate today so in the blade bin it went, maybe I will use a different blade next time.

Have a nice day folks.

Jim

Nice shave and made the 3 days of growth disappear in a matter of 2 passes.

Kamisori Honke Nobu, 5/8

Shaving with a kamisori is always fascinating. Not only for the fact this type of razor gives a deep and close shave, but also for the fact it represents an ancient and distant culture, a different way of thinking about shaving and razor. A simple look with a classic handle, this Honke Nobu is just perfect.

Bulldog Face Wash
Krampert's Finest Frostbite Shaving Soap
Muhle 33K256 Silvertip Fibre

Two Pass - WTG & WTG (Slide)

I commented yesterday, upon first use of my Henckels Rapide, that I thought the original Wilkinson's Patent Roller Safety Shaver that lent its design to Henckels was a better shave and today proved that. The head seems to be on just the right angle and the back retaining clip does not get in the way when refining the angle against the face, something that just looks a bit precarious and actually does get in the way under the nose with the Henckels ... for me.

Today, first use of Krampert's Finest Frostbite Shaving Soap which is a very fine thing indeed and most worthy of that term in its title. Bravo, Brian!

Monday...

Hot towel.
Nuage Shaving oil with menthol ...shaving oil is a first for me..
L'Occitane Plisson brush.
Trumper GFT shaving cream ( sample )
Dovo 6/8 full Hollow.
Botanics moisturiser .
Trumper GFT Cologne.

The shaving oil with menthol is a new thing to me and at a quid from Asda I thought it was worth a go, I quite liked the menthol and having never used Proraso green before either I can only guess the fresh feel is similar. The Trumper shave cream and cologne was a free sample from a young girl on a shaving counter.. The cream works well and the cologne smells ok.

My first shave ever with the Schick Platinum DE. Some more musings about the shave today over here
In short, it was a good shave.

Razor: Schick Platinum DE
Blade: GSB
Brush: L'Occitane Plisson
Soap: 3P
A/S: Myrsol (it felt very apt to use "Plastic Shave" today with my near-all-plastic razor..)
On a side note: Myrsol Plastic Shave is amazing.
