Victoria PB brush
Proraso Green Cream

Gem S/S [ 6 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off

On 6, a fairly harsh shave, as blade starting to drag. Using the CP managed to get
a moderate Shave, with a lot of effort. Decided, max 5 uses on the Gem S/S coated.

SATURDAY MORNING

Razor: Brian Brown kamisori
Strops: Vintage British strop
Brush: TSN Shavemac
Cream: Ingrams
AS: Lucky Tiger
Balm: GFT sandalwood skin food
EDT: Aramis 900

I think it's going to take me a bit of practice with this razor.

It shaved me ever so close on my cheeks and neck but I had trouble on my chin and moustache (where the hair is thickest) and had to finish with a DE.

Admittedly I don't think the Ingrams helped. It just doesn't provide enough slip and cushion for this razor (unless my tube is duff of course).

Still, I've ended up with a cracking shave and the Aramis is lovely so all is well!

Gillette Tech
Rapira (2)
Plisson synth
Wilkinson Sword 'blue bowl'
No7 balm

Staying at a family place up in North Wales, I've dug out a new (but apparently forgotten) bowl of Wilkinson Sword soap. Even when loaded heavily with a synthetic brush, and worked up well, it's not up to much. Fortunately, the Tech isn't demanding and a comfortable shave was had.

Last true day of holiday today before heading back to reality tomorrow and, ultimately, work on Monday morning. It's been a lovely fortnight off!

Prep- Tepid water splash
Soap- Barrister & Mann 'Seville'
Brush- SOC
Razor- Ever Ready Jewel
Blade- Feather [6]
Post- Fine L'Orange Noir AS

Great menthol kick and orange scent. Just right for Sunny day.

Gillette Aristocrat 15

Sigh, that was a razor I really tried to like but no dice. Years ago a forum member was nice enough to offer a test drive. Great looking design and rhodium to boot. Balance was fine and it felt good in my hand. The weight adds a positive bit also.

Just a little too aggressive for an enjoyable shave. One fewer insistent monkeys to deal with though.

Very purty thang, Brian.
