Saturday 8th December 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Semogue 830 Boar
Soap: Spieck grated into a container
Aftershave: Floid Balm

A nice gentle but super close shave, I am really smitten with the Spieck, possibly or perhaps even probably the best soap I have tried to date!

Regards
Dick.

Today, a full Aqua Velva scented shave!

2vmhkbt.jpg

Pre Veleiro soap + old Williams Aqua Velva shaving cream + Kent BK8 Silvertip + UFO U2 Long with Weber ARC and Feather #2 + Williams Aqua Velva splash, balm and cologne

A wonderful shave without doubt! I really love these products!

Cheers!

Hot flannel & Proraso pre, menthol
TOBS Sandalwood cream, EJ BB medium brush
Gillette Slim (set on 4), Perma-sharp (1)
Cold splash, Alum block, Clinique post-shave healer

Gradually ramping up the setting on the Slim, gone from 3 to 4 now. Lovely close shave. Some weepers on my lower neck... that was my fault, varied my technique and tried a directly ATG on lower neck, instead of my usual XTG/ATG hybrid. Failed experiment and back to normal tomorrow

Saturday

Gillette Platinum Swede Blade
Edwin Jagger Silvertip Brush
Dovo/Golddachs Shaving Soap

Fitjar (wild man in the woods sent)
Geo.F.Trumper sandalwood SkinFood to finish

Result BSS WTG :D

Now the father in law has left my home after having a go at me...good buy now don't return any time soon...nob head.
I can finish my post.:icon_cheesygrin:
A little out of pratice with this razor so it was good to shave with it again,
The little F****R got me just under the chin :icon_eek:.....pass the alum please

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
1958 Executive/Personna74 (NOS)
Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
Caron Yatagan AS (1970s juice)
Caron 'Yatagan' EdT (1970s version)

Fifth shave with this old blade, with the last two using the Executive. Still really sharp and smooth. One hell of a good blade.

This 40 year old AS and EdT set still has plenty of scent left to it...more than the current version. Tons of celery/wood notes, which sounds like a kinda weird combo, but works together very well.

Using the old Surrey always gives great results, and today was no exception.

BBS results,

Martin
