Prep: Facewash
Razor: Weber Bulldog DLC
Blade: Voskhod Teflon
Brush: Neep 26mm Extra Silvertip
Soap: MWF
Post: Proraso Menthol Post Cream
AS: Speick Splash

Very nice 2 pass cold water face lather shave.

The Voskhod blade seemed good, will have to see what it's like for the second shave and also in an OC

Hot towel
Proraso pre original
Duke 2 Best
TOBS Jermyn St SC
Muhle R41
Astra SS (1)
Thayer's Medicated Superhazel
Penhaligon's Endymion AS Balm

My first go with the R41. Woke up nice and early to have plenty of time. 3 day growth to deal with.

Excellent 2 pass shave. WTG then XTG. What a beast this razor is. Certainly seems to demand respect. If you lose concentration for a moment you'll pay in blood. Fortunately I survived unscathed.

My handful of shaves with the GEM 1912, I feel prepared me well for this. Slow and easy. No pressure.

R41 is a definite keeper for me.

Hi Rob,

I've always been an early morning person, I only need around 4 or 5 hours sleep, as soon as I get up then I take the Dog for a walk around the block, then I settle back for a little breakfast and I then look at my SOTD photo's then pick out that exact set up, and that's how I choose my SOTD I find it more fun just to take several individual and different shave of the day photo's then when it comes to the shave itself I just pick the one I fancy going with.

Razor: Friodur
Soap: Dr Harris Marlborough
AS: Floid, Italian and blue

Well, maybe I was kind of harsh when I wrote that I think Floris makes the best London high street soaps, this one is pretty good too :D

Sunday

Lazy start to the day and a lazy day in store. SWMBO cooked up a batch of Breakfast Pancakes, Gingerbread Latte has set the day off too.

MdC Soap
Neep Jubillee
EJ 89
Gillette Super Platinum
444 Balm
Opus 1870

Lovely shave with some lovely scents, love the Jubillee Neep.

This morning:

Prep: cold rinse
Razor: Kropp 6/8", black horn scales, restored by UKRob
Brush: Neep #1156 cocobolo chubby 24mm extra silvertip
Soap: Proraso white
Aftershave: Prof Blighty's Red Ginger
Scent: Penhaligon's Endymion

Haven't used Proraso in months, thinking it unsuited due to menthol to these conditions: but with the white I did not notice it at all, and it works as well as always. I must try the green again too, though I never liked it as much and it is more chilling.

Razor and brush as good as any I have tried, excellent soap, a lovely a shave.

Sunday:

Proraso Sandalwood
Omega silvertip
Aristocrat #15
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Witch Hazel
Pinaud Clubman
Nivea Anti-irritation balm

Decent enough. Nice and close but a bit of irritation on my neck. This balm is great stuff. Priced at £7, but 2 for £6 in Sainsbury's, bargain.

Hot Flannel
Proraso Pre, white
NF Tubby1 brush, TOBS Sandalwood Cream
Gillette Tech/Weber Bulldog handle, Personna Med Prep (1)
Cold splash, alum block
Clinique post-shave healer

Think I made a bit of a mistake using the Tech, as I didn't shave yesterday and I had to do a bit of extra scraping. But in the words of Basil Fawlty: I think I got away with it.

Proraso pre/post white
MWF
NF Tubby 2
Muhle R41
Permasharp (1)
Alum
Blightys unscented balm
TOBS Jermyn st cologne

First try with the passaround R41.
3 pass shave with only a couple of wee nicks but face feels a bit sore now. Smooth face though.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

old Savile Row badger
Aristocrat #58/Wilkinson Super Sword Edge (NOS)
RL Safari SS
Malizia vetyver AS
Tom Ford 'Azure Lime' EdP

This razor has been a pleasure to use since it was acquired in a recent trade with Jamie I believe. That deal worked out good for us both.

Anyway, this one's on the light side, but it's still fine. Little more bite than usual helps compensate and the balance is good. Nice knurling and feels good in my hand.

I would have normally reached for a US made Aristo or Diplomat this morning, and having the #58 as another option was pretty handy.

BBS results,

Martin
