Greetings

Saturday 15th December 2012
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Contour
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: Turkish No. 6 Hoar/Borse ?
Soap: Tweex squeezed into a container
Aftershave: Dove Sensitive Balm

A very close but gentle shave with the Contour, this was the second use of the GEM blade, which I feel is the very best shave from these blades, that little bit of harshness is gone and they feel smooth.

Regards
Dick.

Second contribution

Prep: Shower
Pre-shave: Proraso Green
Cream: Palmolive
Bowl: Steel Korean rice bowl
Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Iridium Super
Brush: New Forest 2213
Aftershave: Alum block, St.James Post Shave Gel, Body Shop Activist Deodorant & Edt

I've been using Proraso pre-shave for a few days and quite like the feel although wow! it overpowers any shaving cream scent so I chose Palmolive cream and went wild with inexpensive creaminess.
Second time using the Iridium blade for me. No problems, certainly well behaved and superior to supermarket blades. Testing still ongoing for this one.
Cranked the Progress up to to mark 2.5, tiny steps until I know my limits, plenty of time to try all the settings. I've had this razor for a week now and understand why so many recommend it.
Finished off with Mandarin & Patchouli balm, not sure about this one; leaves skin feeling a little dry and tight, it might be better for summer. I've been using Bodyshop Arber ASB which is much more moisturising so is better for me on cold days I think.
Finish off with Bodyshop Activist Edt, as many were raving about in here, thought I'd give it a go thanks to the poster who pointed out 50% off online orders.

Overall summary: great shave and ready for the day.

Pre Veleiro soap + Myrurgia stick + Semogue 1335 + Weber Bulldog ARC with Feather #4 + La Toja Manantiales splash and balm

A very clean and smooth shave with Iberian products! It's hard to have a bad experience with this Weber coupled with a sharp blade, hehe

Cheers!

Proraso Pre/Post (Original formula)

Saturday
Gillette Sensor / Noxzema

Histoires de Parfums 1889 'Moulin Rouge' EDT (sample) ... a ladies perfume, smells of lipstick and make up, almost exactly like my wife's make up bag ... might have to get a bottle.

Afternoon, gents.

Saturday:

Prep: Claus Porto Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Sik Bay
Blade: Dorco ST300 (7)
Brush: The Soap Shed Best Badger
Shave soap: Kell's Black Tea
A/S: Dynamic Pulse
Cologne: James Bronnley's Eau de Cologne

The Sik Bay was a freebie from my last Bestshave order. Small, light, plastic, and pretty aggressive means you've got to shave carefully. With the well-used Dorco I got an unexpected BBS with no trace of irritation. DE shaving is weird.

Palmolive stick
Vulfix Bodger
EJDE89L, Astra SS
RSB balm

Good shave, no drama. Last shave, with this blade and Supermax Ultimate Cream, was a shocker. Culprit identified.

Even milder than my EJ DE87 which I'm back to tomorrow. :icon_rolleyes:
Now in the correct week :icon_redface:

Today's shave

GEM Micromatic Razor(Brass)
Kent BK4 brush
MWF shaving soap

This Brass GEM feels grippy on my skin unlike the other GEM's who's slip and slide is fabulous. So if you are thinking of a GEM and see a brass one, take this information into consideration.

A grippy BSS :s

excellent shave, totally smooth and irritation free. would have been faultless but for getting carried away at the end of the shave, a bit of extra buffing ended up in a couple of weepers. never mind :)
