Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade (1989)

I remember seeing this film at the cinema, back in 1989. It brought back a lot of the humour and fun that was missing from the previous film, Temple Of Doom. I read somewhere that, apparently, Steven Spielberg made this film as an "apology" for the very dark and gruesome Temple Of Doom. It was fun to have Sean Connery as Indiana Jones' dad, even though he wasn't much older than Harrison Ford at the time, lol. A lot of the comedy in the film comes from Connery and Ford's chemistry. I loved this film back then and I still do. I give it a solid 10/10.

Goldeneye (1995)

This was Pierce Brosnan's first and best Bond film, IMO. I first saw it at the cinema in 1995 and have seen it several times since. I liked him as James Bond, and thought that he had the right mix of humour and gravitas. I also thought that the two Bond girls were good and Sean Bean made a decent villain. The film also has some great action sequences. Apparently, the film was cut by the BBFC on its original cinema release, but I was unaware of that back then. I have since seen it on DVD, but the only differences that I could see were a few headbutts that I didn't remember in previous versions. I enjoyed the film again, and I give it a solid 10/10.

Here's some trivia...the director, Martin Campbell, later went on to direct Casino Royale, Daniel Craig's first Bond film. The theme song to Goldeneye was written by Bono and The Edge (U2).

Tenet.
You got to watch it.
Good battle where one group is fighting going backwards in time and another group going forwards. Visually stunning.
Tbh. No idea what the film was about.

Tomorrow Never Dies (1997)

This was Pierce Brosnan's second Bond film. It was the last decent one that he did, as I didn't like either of his last two Bond films. I haven't seen this film as many times as most of the previous ones, so my memory of it isn't great. However, it does have some good action sequences (as do most other Bond films, to be fair), and I liked the villains in this film. I didn't find the Bond girl, played by Michelle Yeoh, particularly attractive, though, and Teri Hatcher is only in the film for about five minutes. The theme song by Sheryl Crow is also crap, IMO. However, it was Brosnan's second best Bond film, and it is still worth seeing. I give it 9/10.

The World Is Not Enough (1999)

I first saw this film on DVD in the year 2000. I didn't enjoy it very much, though, so I have only seen it twice since then. The plot is extremely confusing and convoluted, so I found it very hard to follow. I liked the two Bond girls, played by Sophie Marceau and Denise Richards, and I also liked Robert Carlyle as the villain, though. The theme song is also not bad. This is not one of my favourite James Bond films, though. I am unable to give it a score, as it is pretty unmemorable and generic. I can't predict that I'll ever want to watch this again. No rating.

Moonfall

Bits like independence day and other bits like the matrix.
We enjoyed it. I'd give it 8 out of 10 for the entertainment. Bet its rated less than 8 on reviews but I don't look at them much. Rather put feet up and watch for myself

Casino Royale (2006)

Okay, I'll say it now. I don't like Daniel Craig, so I'll keep this short. I first saw this at the cinema in 2006 with a friend, and hated every minute of it. The Bond girls are nothing special, the villains are dull, the film is far too long and the noisy theme tune gave me a migraine. I also didn't like Daniel Craig as Bond, because he lacked charisma and presence, and I thought that he was "thuggish". I watched this film again last night, but only because I am working my way through my Bond boxset. Sorry to any Daniel Craig fans, but I don't like him or any of his Bond films. No rating.

Friday The 13th (1980)

I watched this again this morning. It has always been one of my favourite horror films, and it still is. The cast are mostly unknowns, and the acting can be a bit ropey, but the film has a good atmosphere and moves along fairly briskly. There are also some quite inventive (for the time) death scenes, with some superb make-up FX from the late and much-missed Tom Savini. The ending, in particular, still makes me jump to this day, even though I know what is about to happen. Overall, it's an old film now but still a great watch. I give it 8/10.

Quantum Of Solace (2008)

This was Daniel Craig's second Bond film, and it's a mess. The plot, if it has one at all, is completely incoherent, the Bond girl is nothing special, the villains are dull and the film has one of the worst theme songs of the entire Bond series. The action scenes are also edited in such a way that it's hard to tell what is going on, with lots of extremely fast editing. The Bond series seemed to be trying to emulate the Jason Bourne films by this point, and it shows even more in this film. I hated the film when I saw it at the cinema in 2008 and I've only watched it once since then. The series really jumped the shark with this film. I give it no rating, because I can't find it in my heart to give this film any praise. By now, the Bond series had lost the plot...quite literally.

Skyfall (2011)

This is one of the few Bond films that I have only ever seen once. It just isn't for me. It's far too long, not much happens for large chunks of the film, and it's boring IMO. The only thing that I do like about it is the theme song by Adele. I know that this fan has lots of fans, but sadly I am not one of them. I doubt that I will ever watch this film again. I watched it for the first time yesterday and hated it. No rating.
