strange views, not the kind of people I want to see down the pub let alone in parliament.

I want to marry Nick; where can I meet him??

Thanks Nic. Perhaps I was being naive but I didn't think anyone here would be supportive of parties such as the BNP. I am all for PR and would accept that they may get some representation in parliament under this system, but it doesn't mean I have to approve of them.

And Sharon, what are you going to tell Cheese Dave??

Well after Geoff Capes certainly.
beat me to it

Despite my original reply to this post I now think that there would be no need for the Tories to agree to electoral reform, just form some arrangements to avoid being voted down on everything.

Based on the fact that the Tories have 305 seats (with 2 constituencies to declare), the DUP may well back him and Sinn Fein don't vote then Cameron is not very far from being able to operate without Lib Dem support. If Brown offers a referendum on PR to Clegg to form a coalition, Cameron could probably rally sufficient support amongst Labour back benchers who would stand to lose their seats under a PR system to force a vote of no confidence to force another election and maybe achieve a working majority.

But I would hope that you wouldn't open a conversation with a group of Asian youths with the phrase "how many of you are robbers" ;)

Or rather the non Queens English version "How many uz yuz robbers?"

I thought he said "which one of us are robbers?"

And I'm not convinced we saw the start of that conversation either.

I listened to it again while you were posting edited my post and he says

How many uz yuz robbers? both sides were after a fight and that's not the kind of person who should be in politics. There's more of us..... now on you F#### way!!!

What happens if he got a seat and is interviewed by Paxman is it OK to deliver a quick knee in the nads if he feels that Paxo's getting at him?

Er...actually that would certainly make for an interesting interview. VOTE BNP!!!!

Well indeed.

on a change of tack I wonder how long the gay porn industry takes to bring out a Film called "Well hung parliament", in which Gordon is buggered.

I’d give a week’s wages to see that happen, in fact id even let them use some of my T&H Ultimate Comfort cream to grease the f**ker up....

I was rather hoping we would see increased support for a couple of the minority parties. For example, I would have liked to have seen a dozen or so UKIP and BNP MP's present in the new parliament!

(words fail me)

I think the point that Spandex was making is that due to the skewed political system we have currently, the HoP are not a true representation of the electorates wishes.

If enough people propotionally vote for the BNP, Communists or Monster Raving Loonies, who is to say they should be denied representation?

The answer is quite simply , no one.

Any other answer means that we might as well have a dictatorship of one party - one vote. Which if you haven't noticed is just about where we are now, due to convergence: the middle, safe, beige, oooh don't upset anyone, new idea's - no thanks, diet coke, light beer, centre of a great big political turd! :|

Fair example, BNP to far right for me, but Nigel Farage was great at giving it both barrels in Brussels and as such they got my vote (oh bugger did anyone see that).

I think he actually said, "How many is there of us?".

Obviously that should have been "how many of us are there?". And yes, I don't think we saw the start of the conversation. But spitting... come on, there's no excuse for that. I'd have introduced him to Mr. Cockpunch for that.
