It was when he said about the flannel, sorry shave cloth which he invented a couple of years ago that did it for me, but then again I thought that the more blades on your razor the better until recently. Proof positive that you can always get people on the band wagon if the marketing is good enough.

That's cracking stuff. I now know where I'm going wrong, I'm taking my t-shirt off when I shave. Must rub the cream all over my shirt, yes indeedy.

That seemed very strange to me too , the lack of stubble , the crazy way he handled the razor with a feather in it, the exercise video commentary "and up and up and down and down feel the burn " , does'nt use a mirror, crazy made up terminology
Very very strange. Reminded me a bit of a martial arts class.

You have to take your hat off for his initiative!

There won't be a Roberts brush in my collection though.

But I am never unpleasant about eccentrics.

And the marketing isn't even good. It's based on mock-scientific self-invented balderdash, and self-effacing exclusivity. As far as I can see, the only people falling for it are gullibles that want to be deceived.

Using a piece of no good sodium olivate soap, sold for 10 times its worth, to make lather, and then selling a paste, which basically is an ordinary shaving cream, so that people can make a 'superlather' (never have understood the advantages of superlathers either), also for big bucks. You would be better off using only the paste...

Oh, and the base nonsense he blabbers about shaving brushes would make me laugh if it weren't so sad, really.

OOOOOH. It's even worse than I thought, quality-wise. He could as well be shaving with water only, or water with some marseille soap (which is basically what this is).

The cutting balm, for all I can see, is, or contains some readily soluble surfactant and some oil. And I really can't believe that anyone would be able to move like that with an open comb rasor with a feather blade, and not come away with multiple nicks and cuts....

Of course. But I prefer not to do it peddling snake oil...

Any chance of another batch of Sandal/Seed cream any time soon, Henk?

Or snake oil...?

I have a batch of 'Bay rum with a twist' right now. Or did I already tell you that? I would prefer to get that out of the door before making another batch (with sandalwood and vetiver), unless there is enough interest in the sandalwood/vertiver cream that I can offload an entire batch of it at once...

Oops, sorry. It does smell of bay rum, sort of. The fragrance is 2 parts (sensory perfection) bay rum, one part patchouli, one part bornyl acetate, and one part bergamot oil. In my perception it resembles a cross between bay rum and speick.

Pig cat, Audiolab, and Rev-O have a sample of my ASB with this same scent...

Anyway, the only thing I could do in the short term, is send you my still almost full tub of sandalwood/vetiver sampler, that I carry along to present to barbershops. It is the last tub I have left. I can also carry a tub with bay rum, so if you really want to, I can send you the sandalwood sampler.

Cheers

Henk
