Does that allow you to use a converter? II suspect that converter plus adapter would be too long for the barrel. The adapter allows the use of International cartridges which are quite short.Brian you can get an adapter for the preppy
Platinum International Adapter 150A
Fits Platinum Preppy and Plaisir pens to allow use of international standard cartridges.www.cultpens.com
It fits fine!Does that allow you to use a converter? II suspect that converter plus adapter would be too long for the barrel. The adapter allows the use of International cartridges which are quite short.
Is this a platinum converter Bruce? It fits fine!
Preppy with adapter and converter (standard size) beside a Prefounte with a Platinum cartridge. The barrels and nib sections are interchangeable between the two models, Prefounte is a bit more stylish.

No street cred though Bruce, it just looks like a plastic biro, the Al-Star is and looks much classier and will last in the tough world of young schooldays.
Nope, generic (Schmidt) cartridge with the wee Platinum adapter. The Platinum converter would fit, I think, but it costs more than the pen!!Is this a platinum converter Bruce?
Haha same! My parents moved area and dumped me in the local comp with a shiny pair of brogues, leather briefcase and Shaeffer fountain pen. That and my accent provided the rest of them (tracky bottoms, books in a Tesco bag) with plenty ammo.If he goes to the kind of school I went to, more chance of making it home alive with an ordinary pen
Glad to be of assistance.....@BigBruce .... I think that I am going to have to push the Ignore button on you. You have been costing me money. First it was lamy and now it's Platinum. A couple of Preppys and adapters are winging their way to me now. I have a collection of converters I can try so (fingers crossed) I will get something which works!
As a former resident of NI......I don't look much further than Bushmills!!I can recommend some nice whiskies as well
If I did....it would be a verrrry guilty pleasure!I'm sure you would enjoy a reassuringly exorbitant Scotch single malt
The only time I drink Scotch is on Burns Night as it is just the right thing to do!I'm sure you would enjoy a reassuringly exorbitant Scotch single malt
I second that. If you are taking the trouble to write with a 'proper' pen, it pays to look the part! But I'm incredibly shallow...No street cred though Bruce, it just looks like a plastic biro, the Al-Star is and looks much classier and will last in the tough world of young schooldays.
