She has great taste - they're good razors. I have the same one with the R and M plate. Both provide enjoyable shaves. I didn't rate the aluminium S1 though - interesting really as the stainless S1 is one of my top razors

R = regular so it's their middle of the road plate. The ATT website offers some good comparisons:
