Birth razors, Who's got them, who's looking?

This is all interesting stuff, didn't realise you could get a razor date.
What should i be looking for July 1969.

Manufacturing date code of O3 - O denotes year of '69, 3 = third quarter of the year (July - Sept)

Gillette Super Adjustable, black handled superspeed or Knack G1000

Many thanks

Never managed to track one down, I need an R3 if anyone has one (Sept 1971). One day I will find it but for now the search goes on. Never went especially out my way because I already have a Black Handled Super Adjustable which is about the best I could get in the desired date. Often people do not quote the date on auctions and I got sick of asking.

My H3 Gillette Adjustable (slim, but it doesn't look very slim ... until set rght beside a fatboy), arrived from the US of A today in the post - only two days past the event, but still, not too shabby a time to come over from Pennsylvania.

The adjustment ring is a wee bit reluctant, though the numbers are fairly dark still, and the ebay blurb was pretty accurate about the plating loss of approximately 25%; eventually it will go to Dave at safetyrazors.co.uk for re-plating.

I can't see the point of a birth razor as you're unlikely to have needed shaving.
To me it would be more logical to have a razor from your first year of real shaving.

Speak for yourself.

  • My birth was a very close shave.
      • My entire body was BBS ...
          • ... except for a full head of hair, and the eyebrows/lashes etc.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

I don't own one but would be interested in obtaining a Birth Razor.

Razor date codes began with V3. In the human production line, I came along in that quarter as well; August 1950. Looks like it would either be a super speed or a "Gillette Milord", preferring the Milord. I use the razors I purchase and I'm just getting started looking at the antique shops. I haven't seen any razors in the yard sales or flea markets I've attended so far. Regards, Robert
