No, I wet the block, use it, towel dry my face then balm or moisturise. I've never had an issue to be honest. (Mine's in a block, so after use simply dry and put it back in its container). It works for me unless someone tells me I've been using it wrong all these years....But you have to wash it off right ?

I found witch hazel stings me. Just goes to show.I gave it up for witch hazel. does the same but much less aggressive. I use alum only on nicks...

Tea Tree & E45 it seems to work a treat oh i also use vitamin E in the mixture
