Inspired by Fido, I also bought a small 'casserole' dish and pummelled 2 of my Palmolive sticks into it. A test lather produced very good results.

Following my casseroled palmolive assisted shave today I popped in to Southampton and as usual made my way to John Lewis to have a look at their men's grooming stock. As a fan of Floris Elite balm I thought I'd check out their eau de toilet. Picked up a Bouquet de La Reine, had a sniff and thought to myself how the cool green topnotes of violet leaf and blackcurrant buds with the enticing soft fruitiness of fresh peaches combined well with jasmine and rose entwined with exotic tuberose and ylang ylang as the radiant floral heart unfolds and leads to the base of sandalwood, vanilla and oakmoss. Exactly what I was looking for.

So I have doubled my EDT collection.

Driving home, Ruth suddenly said "What the hell's that smell?" I began to comment on the cool green topnotes of violet leaf......... But I think she quite likes it.

Did you take basenotes.net along with you?

Perhaps I should have done. Floris describe their eau de toilets as suitable for men and women.

I'm a bit worried about the suitability for a Queen bit and BettyBoop's remarks.

But I like it anyway.

The postman rang twice today.

First to deliver a load of tea samples, then to deliver a load of stone and some Israeli steel, thanks npinn001.

The tea should keep me company tonight whilst I play with my new hones.

Don't worry about all that "for men / for women" claptrap.

I have worn Penhaligon's Bluebell, Malabah and Night Scented Stock as well as Chanel's Cuir De Russie and Caron's Tabac Blond.

Went to Boots looking for Cool Cologne Shaving cream, nothing, popped into TK Maxx, and found St James of London
Founders Reserve..

Post Shave Cologne & Shaving Cream Cedarwood & Clarysage, £13.00 for both, the Cologne smells lovely :) , will give the cream a try tonight.

Just picked up an old leather gentleman's part travel set on Ebay for £4.99 +P&P and if I am not very much mistaken, it has a slim adjustable, an old open comb raazor and an old straight plus other bits and bobs.

Looking forward to seeing whether I am right or not!

Good score.
Dont know how i missed it

These things happen to all of us! I know I have missed loads.

It's pot luck as I have no guarantee that I am right or that they are in any kind of decent condition.

I would doubt that the sraight is any good (not that I have ever used one).

Worse case I have a nice leather "stash box" to hide things in out of the way of SWMBO!

Haha I was watching that item and thinking shall I or shan't I, in the end I decided not to as I'm watching something else I'd rather splash out on!

That is quite nice, a lot like the Dovo one for the Futur.

No offense intended on the meds UH, I am a few myself and the pharmacy have got to the stage where they will drop my meds off at the house and give me stuff if I run out before I get the prescription (if it is something on repeat). Some people say they don't like pills and while I am not a fan of them I hate pain more then pills so sod it I self medicate as needed.

Got 200 of those Yellow 7 O'clock shapedge blades from the handy link posted on the blade forum and a Rooney in Finest to complete the one of each hair type in my Rooney collection.

No offense taken mate. As I said some days double dosing sounds like a fine idea, except for the probable consequences of doing so - not getting refills when they run out; negative side effects without the relief of death; worse incapcitation etc ... cheery,eh. ;)

I'm no huge fan of them, especially as they have been pretty random in their effects on me in the past, but, yeah - it beats the f#ck out of the full pain load every moment of the day...

No acquisitions so far this week; waiting on some PIF'd blades, and waiting for Saturday after next, when some hard earned chicken-feed gets paid into my money-gushing-painfully-spewing-gut-ruptured-black-hole! ... er, I mean my bank account.

got my Trumpers sample pack today with the following:

Wild Fern Bath / Shower Cream
Limes, Violet, Almond, Coconut Oil Shaving Creams
Sandalwood, Ajaccio Violets, Portugal, Spanish Leather, Wild Fern, Marlborough Colognes
Extract of Limes & Coral Skin Food

oh yeah, nice little bag too :D

I take it that skin food is another way of saying moisturiser?
