Just got this in the post today. A Timex marlin, 34mm case, hand winder. Absolutely love it, but think I'm going to get a perlon strap, this strap is a bit short on me.

It's not an automatic, it needs hand winding. I have a few automatics though, and I just like the concept of them more than anythingWhat prompted you to get an automatic if I may ask?
Stunning! Always liked the look of Timex watches, but have avoided as they are often "tickers" - however, this is a beauty. Good to see a smaller watch.Just got this in the post today. I have the A700 its usually touted as a ladies watch but its much the same size as many other Casios. It has an excellent strap much easier to adjust than much more expensive Milanese straps on other watches. If I were to wear a digital, which I have not done since early 1988, I would buy this one:

Vintage Collection • SUPER SLIM CASE • Water resistant • LED backlight • 1/100-second stopwatch • Daily alarm • Stainless steel bandwww.casio-intl.com
Ben raved about it and I really like his practical reviews as he doesn't suffer from "automatic snobbery" that countless other watch bloggers effuse:

When browsing Amazon (as part of our recent collaboration), something slightly unexpected cropped up. A great-looking Casio that appeared to have a 6mm thickness. Surely, this has to be a typo?www.benswatchclub.com
I think watches are a bit like cars you fiddle about with the functions/options for the first few days and then 90% of the options are never used again! You must have young eyes, Manstein. I'd need my bifocals to even begin to read the gizmos & doohickies on that watch at my age. It sure does look "bombproof" however!!
