SOTD: Saturday 23th November to Friday 29th November 2019

25/11/19

Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Gillette 7O'C Yellow (1)
Brush: Semogue 730HD
Soap: Signature Soaps Caledonia
Pre: Proraso White
ASL: Floïd Suave
ASB: Floid

Signature Soaps Caledonia today which is lime and lavender. Of the 7 of Sig Soaps I have, this one may have worked its way in to the top 3 (2 being Coria and 1 being Hibernia). The lather was great as usual and there was plenty of it from the Semogue. Yes, I smell like a damp sock with the Floïd on but I love how it works and feels.

SOTD Monday 25 November 2019

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser, followed by Prorasso Red.
Soap: MDC.
Brush: Shavemac ' The Flat Top'.
Bowl: Giles Shaving Co - Spotty Pedestal.
Razor: Pils 101NE.
Blade: Shark Platinum.
Post: Pitralon Swiss, followed by Bioaroma After Shave Moisturizing Face Cream.
EDP: Captain Fawcett Booze and Backy Eau de Parfum.

Many thanks to @Ian T for giving me a Shark Platinum. blade to try; excellent - very, very smooth - I am going on the hunt for more of these; this was a blade that just seemed to work well; I am going to try and shave with a wider DE blade range, moving away from my Gillette Silver Blue's and Yellows - variety is the spice of life and all of that :). These Sharks compared with the GSB's and the Astra SP Greens, as ever YMMV.

A very enjoyable 2 pass shave WTG and XTG, face and neck - DFS+/BBS- finish, with no issues to report. With winter in full flow, I have decided to shave with fewer passes and to use a beeswax based post shave balm to help lock in some moisture; so far so good.

I am going to make a concerted effort to leave work on time; do less work at home and make more time for SOTD postings :)

All the best,

Chris

Pre:

Warm wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Soap.

Brush: Chinese Unbranded Silvertip Fibre.

Face Lather.

Soap : Chinese Cologne shaving soap.

Blade: Derby Premium.(1)

Frankenrazor : Yaqi DOC Head / Schmidt R10 Handle.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade Lavender + Tea Tree Oil Witch Hazel Mixture./ Duru ~ Mandalina Cologne.

Lucky Tiger ~ Aftershave & Face Tonic.

Greetings,

Early morning shave.

The yaqi doc head /schmidt r10 handle is a wonderful frankenrazor, the appearance of the head makes it looks very aggressive but it's the complete opposite paired together with the right blade choice gives a socially acceptable shave.

The chinese cologne soap as always provided me with a wonderful protective slick lather for the shave, and excellent post shave feel..A superb chinese shaving soap, which i highly recommend, and a one that will always be in my shaving den.

A comfortable 3 pass + pick ups near bbs shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous splash of Lucky Tiger ~ Aftershave & Face Tonic.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling zesty devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap,Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Pre-Shave Cream
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac Three-band Silvertip Briar
Cream: Geo. F Trumper Spanish Leather (sample)
Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Vintage NOS Gillette 'Swede' (8)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel, Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Balm
Scent: Geo. F Trumper Spanish Leather EdC

An effortless, smooth and close three pass shave with this line-up.

I knew I would love the scent of this cream, as the matching cologne is one of my all-time favourites. Think a really classy version of Imperial Leather. The cream is relatively firm - approaching a 'croap'. The scent strength is mid from the container, and remains mid-strength throughout the shave, and as I mentioned above, has a beautiful scent.
The cream is very easy to lather and reach correct shaving hydration levels. On the first pass, the thing that immediately struck me about this product was the cushioning - it was excellent. This allowed a faster than normal shave time for me, as I glided the razor around my face. Slickness during the shave was very good, and residual slickness respectable.
Just had to finsih off with the matching cologne ;).

Two day growth removed in two easy passes this morning. The Pannacrema Nuàvia Blu is an unbelievably good Italian soft soap with the most wonderful scent. The Feather blade on it's fourth outing was still sharp and smooth in the Razorock razor. A great start to the day.

SOTD Tuesday 26 November 2019

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser, followed by Prorasso Red Pre/Post Shave Cream.
Cream: Kiehl's Smooth Glider Shave Lotion.
Brush: Fingers today.
Razor: Colonial the General (2019).
Blade: Schick Proline P-30 (Day 3).
Post: Pitralon Swiss, followed by Bioaroma After Shave Moisturizing Face Cream.
EDP: Molinard Cuir (Leather).

In a rush this morning, so decided to try a different shave setup, with the least amount of time required for preperation. I usually use a shave cream/lotion without a brush for a final pass, when I want to see what I am doing. The Kielh's lotion worked well with the Prorasso Red pre-shave; good cushion and glide.

A very plesant 2 pass shave WTG and XTG face and neck, DFS finish with no issues to report. The Molinard Cuir is a excellent solid EDP to finish off, as ever I appreciate that YMMV.

The Pitralon Swiss is amazing stuff; does anyone know of a UK stockist?

All the best,

Chris
