Well done you - ever thought about actually engaging with the people on this forum? - to give a little? Your posts are potentially just a big advert for your YouTube feed. A vanity project - cold Scottish water? - yes - I use it everyday - but don't need to make a fuss about it - if you think anything - I just said is unfair - I'd be happy to hear your response- I.

Shaving recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower / Nivea Men ~ DEEP CLEAN Shower Gel.

Pre:

Cold wet flannel to my face.

Pears ~ Transparent Bar Soap + Wilko Men's shave Oil.

Brush: Omega 10051.

Bowl Lather.

Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.

Lather: 3P croap (Sample)

Blade: Personna Gem modified PTFE. (2)

Razor : Valet ~ Auto Strop VC1.

Post:

Cold Water Face Rinse./Homemade peppermint , lavender eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Witch Hazel Mixture./Benjamins ~ Mentholated Bay Rum.

Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.

A relaxing sunday morning shave.

After the extremely close shave with the assertive Gem micromatic i only needed 2 passes + a pick up pass to make my face silky smooth again.

The wonderful valet vc1 looks an "aggressive lady" but IMHO it's quite mild however, that's not to say it isn't efficient this vintage lady will mow through face & head stubble with ease after the limited time it takes to adjust to this mild but efficient lady.

As always personal views judgements, & opinions are very subjective.

The 3P croap sample created a wonderful cushioned protective slick lather in a short space of time leaving a superb post shave feel.

Another very comfortable 2 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Stay safe, and enjoy you sunday ladies & gentlemen.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: P&C LE 2020 Matilda Rhodium 2-band Silvertip
Cream: Cremo
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Sticky
Blade: Vintage NOS Wilkinson Sword Light Brigade (6)
Post: Thayers Cucumber Witch Hazel; Reuzel Aftershave Splash

Tried for the first time two new products in this shave - Cremo shaving cream and Reuzel Aftershave. Impressed with both.

Sun 20th Sept.

RR 400. SE-Plissoft noir
P & B Pall Mall
Schick J3 -Golden 500
Schick S/S- Chick [ 4 ]
Floid Vigoroso A/S Lotion

I rather like this longer handled Schick which though quite mild, provides a very smooth Shave and allows one to coax a trouble free close finish from it. I think I will round off use of Injectors confined to use of one blade by using an old favourite - PAL Adjustable.

shower
cold water
Yaqi Sagrada Familia + Williams
BIC 2 Sensitive
cold water rinse
alum
Superdrug Sierran Breeze aftershave

my first use of Williams and I can see why it gets a lot of stick. I could only get a frothy lather not creamy at all. In this respects it reminded me of another hard soap the Erasmic stick though with a different scent. I guess the harder the soap the more difficult it is to produce a creamy effect but Arko and Derby seem to manage it. But like the Erasmic the shave was fine with no irritation. However I won't hurry to use the Williams again and it's definitely in the bottom 50% for me.

And the theme for last night's shave was 'Monster Monster Monster'

IMG_20200919_215652.jpg

Frankenstein - Monster monster monster - Stainless Mongoose
Dracula - Monster monster monster - Feather Super Professional
The Witcher - Monster monster monster - Steve Jagger Leadwood 30mm Cashmere
Creature from the black lagoon - Monster monster monster - Penhaligon's Bayolea
James P Sullivan - Monster monster monster - Bayolea aftershave splash

A first time out with the new Steve Jagger creation and this truly is a monster of a brush. I have always had a big admiration for the Cashmere knot since owning the wonderful Yaqi Dandelion, a mere 24mm baby in comparison to this 30mm beast. I guess it is not the biggest knot out there but to me this is Land of the Giants material. Size doesn't matter? It bloody does in this case and probably one of the reasons my wife absolutely loves this brush. Which let's be honest, says a lot for Steve's work when it gathers admiration from the enemy within.

I will have to make a separate write up at some point in the review section but for the moment a few words to cover.

For a long time I never really understood this brush thing and viewed them as being nothing more than just a function, irrelevant of whether one was better than the other etc. As time moved on I am starting to appreciate this aspect of shaving from a different perspective and this particular brush has changed my mindset a bit further down the road of 'Why a brush?'. Not to be mistaken with 'Wire brush?'

This brush reflects everything about craftsmanship and the time Steve has taken to create this piece of shaving wonderment. The knot to me is a monster and only just fitting in to the wooden bowl. But just a few swirls and job done. Loaded. In to my shaving bowl/Mexican-cereal-dish and within seconds a monster quantity of lather to match a monster brush. Applied to face and a great job done of massaging the lather in to my boat race and looking like I am wearing a comedy white beard. All I could think was 'Thank God I do choose to shave. I couldn't be doing with a big hairy face and thank God I am not God. What with all this big white beard thing?'

Job done and brush proving its worth
Not going to prattle on much further as I think I have said enough on the other gear used, but just a quick word to say Stainless Mongoose? Effing boss and up there with any other great SE razor. A General with bite.

One great shave with a new best supporting act in the Silver Birch brush. So impressed with everything about it my wife has told me to go and order another. Says a lot, and yes, she has used it. How many wives tell you to go out and get more shave related items?

Monster Monster Monster

Have most bodacious week ahead everyone and may you all be well and safe during these ever confusing times.

New to me, but these Japanese girly bands just seem to have no shortage of new bands to discover. As someone said 'All the best girl bands are over in Japan' and they were pretty much correct. Nemophilia

Pre: Face wash with Whickams pre shave soap
Brush: Silver Birch Brushes - 26mm Silvertip - Cocobolo
Soap: 1912 Scottish Heather
Razor: 5/8 Peter Ludwig Schmidt "Golden Dispatch"
Blade: @Billyji1
Post shave: Alum, Cold water splash, The last of my Bay Rum #1 splash
Balm: Barts Balm Rosemary and Sandalwood Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: CK One

The Maiden voyage for the Cocobolo 26mm Silvertip badger, mixing up a wonderful lather with the 1912 soap. Only 1 hair lost today from this brush, hopefully the badger funk will be completely gone soon with a little more usage.
These brushes fit my hand like a glove, i am really enjoying using them, the wall of soft badger when face lathering is simply wonderful, they build quickly and allow painting to be done in no time.
I completed my straight razor 2 pass shave routine without any issues, i decided to go for some touch up and completed the devils whirlpools without issue, confidence up i tackled the chin area to see if i could get a better finish there, i just nicked my self slightly trying to work out best angle of attack, not a bleeder but it was there all the same.
So a DFS+ result today, are the touch ups worth it? not really, its only me who would really know.
A nice post shave had me ready for my busy day ahead starting with nothing from the Alum rub apart from the nick, a cold water splash then the last rub of my Bay Rum #1 splash i have enjoyed using that these past months.
Moving onto the Barts and CK one had me in tip top condition to do the shopping.

On a positive Mrs TC felt up to coming shopping with me and managed really well, so much so, she decided to try to drive the car in the supermarket car park (with me hanging onto the handbrake just in case ;)), that little test completed she drove halfway home then i took over - Well Done Mrs TC.

Another productive early morning on the Hones, i re-honed the 5/8th H. Paashaus 82 from the bevel on the 1K through the progression up to 12K, resulting in a much more even edge than yesterday's effort concentrating on the heel and toe of 1 side, i also took a small 4/8th Karl Hummel from the 1K to 12K, particularly satisfying as this little razor had a visible frown, this was more noticeable once it was cleaned, i sanded the heel down a touch and levelled the edge on a cheap diamond plate, checking edge flatness on the plate as i went and taking care not to remove too much. Once flat i managed to set a nice even bevel all along the edge on the 1k and it polished up well. It is tree topping easily.
Hopefully these will get a run out soon to actually see if they are smooth.
Stay Safe and enjoy your day All.

I have to agree with you Barry, they do look a bit vicious, although i also find mine a very mild & efficient shaver, i think they are overlooked because of its looks and the blade modification which i find really easy to do. Its a shame not more are used.
