Friday 24th June

Omega 10108 Boar - Derby - Pearl Blaze/SuperShave X - Lynx Dark TemptationAS and Body Spray

My second day with this setup. Yesterday was a very early start and late finish so no post. The Derby stick has been pressed into one of my relish dishes an I think I prefer using it that way. The Blaze performed impeccably as usual. I can never understand why it doesn't have many followers!

3 passes for a face feeler :)
Like that handle, do you know if it is sold on its own.

Fri 24th June

Omega 1126 boar
Hampshire Wool Fat soap
ER 1924
Gem S/S ( 6 )
GB Grey Flannel A/S Lotion

Overall a much better Shave than yesterday, confirms that the blade in The “ Streamline “ was below par and needs binning. May try it out again tomorrow.

Friday:

Margaritas in the Arctic very menthol and cooling.

Final fly out with the KCG blade, very similar to the Super Gillette Blue blades, so could just be the stencilling and packaging that is different!

No irritation issues today. Super cool and feeling fresh

Have a good one.

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
La Savonniere du Moulin Shaving Soap
DSC Professional w/Synbad Synthetic 26mm
Gillette Labs Exfoliating Razor & Gillette Labs Cartridge (10)
Coty Musk Aftershave

Drawing a week of this format to a close as I switch back to traditional razor and blade at the weekend ...

Last week I was using the Wilkinson Sword Hydro Advanced format and mused that I thought the actual cartridge better than the equivalent Gillette ProGlide but the razor mechanism inferior to the Gillette Flexball and certainly the Gillette Labs mechanism. After a week with the Gillette Labs format (the cartridge is ostensibly the Gillette ProGlide), I am inclined to conclude that I support my musings.

Yes, I think the Wilkinson Sword Hydro cartridge better than the Gillette ProGlide.

Good fun, too, to re-acquant myself with the vintage Coty Musk splash that I've hidden in the loft for no other reason than ... well, it's vintage and somehow should be saved (or spared). Nah! Get it used, man! Very much enjoyed!

... and a good run with my reknotted DS Cosmetics handle with a big Synbad fan knot has pushed this brush up the ranks, finding it highly enjoyable with a near instant thick lather drawn up from dry brush lathering directly onto bloomed soap. Super!

I'm not normally one for SOTD posts but I've just had a cracking shave.
For the first time in ages I used my 1948/49 Gillette superspeed.
Omega boar brush.
Blade, Astra sp.
Soap. mix of MWF, TOBS sandalwood and Palmolive, from dregs of pucks pressed in a bowl.
And Brut just because.
Have to say the superspeed is a great razor, after the second or third stroke I found the angle and had a perfect scrape of the chin with no irritation or rash, the Brut did not sting when slapped on so I see that as a win.
Why spend a fortune when great shaves are available for much cheapness. (y):)

I’m a big Superspeed fan of all varieties

And the final entry for this week is themed 'XXX'

'So you want me to do what? What's a cash point?'

A lovely shave to see this week out and to see the weekend in. This is Friday night bliss. Now off to the cash machine.

Have a most wonderful weekend you fantastic forum folk and I wish you all your families and friends the very best.

And why not enjoy some Beaver?

Thursday

Random selection chose Proraso red, which was fine, except that my hand-fisted-ness has broken the cap by over tightening, so now it's duct taped on until I find a suitably sized replacement.

The shave itself wasn't too bad, I got plenty of water in there as first application was a little dry. Obviously face lathering most of the time means that when I get a bowl out, I'm out of practice.

I finished off with the EJ sandalwood balm. My face whilst very smooth, feels a little sore and the balm gave a slight sting.

I probably should have used the GFT skin food!

Anyhoo, have a good day all
I was given a tube of Proraso white a few years ago, I don't use cream so I made a puck out of it.

Squirted into a bowl.

After a couple of days I could push it together some.

100_2400.JPG

Let it dry some more.

100_2404.JPG

After some more time passed I formed it into a usable puck.
