Greetings,

Early morning shave,

The black carbon blade was starting to rust up on the blade ends so it was time retire it to the used blade bin....It's no great loss to me as the two previous shaves the blade gave me were smooth & efficient with no drama, plus the cost of these blades is very inexpensive.. ...Loading a fresh blade in my Muhle r89 mowed through my stubble with effortless ease.

A enjoyable 2 pass + pick ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a small dollop of Cien sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Prep: Shower, Palmolive Olive Oil Soap
Soap: Dead Sea Shave Kraken sample
Brush: 24mm Boti Boss Knot
Blade: Gillette Super Blue (3)
Post: Benjamins Bay Rum ASL, RSC Balm

First time using the Kraken sample from @Scorpio93 's care package that came with the recent PIF! I've accepted that I'm definitely a face-latherer, and initial attempts to whip up a lather solely in the bowl were disappointing. After loading the brush and applying to the face however, the soap came to life. Interesting, dank scent which opens up to a mandarin sweetness - really rather nice. The Benjamins pushed the bay back to the fore. 3 and out for the Super Blue I think.

Soap Henri et Victoria Cognac & Cuban Cigars
Brush Yaqi 24mm Silvertip
Razor J.R. Torrey 5/8
Aftershaves Stirling Witchhazel MitA + HeV-CCC Balm
Very aromatic scented soap. Today's lather quality was just so-so...
Nice easy shave with this razor. Still unable to get more efficiency under the neck...ah well...just enjoyed it nonetheless.
Nice aftershaves too.

I did not care for the Stainless Steal at all. Friend loaned me the Titanium and it blew me away. The Totanium has such a soft face feel. If I didn't experience the difference I wouldn't have believed it. Unfortunately although a GREAT shaver, I'm too hooked with the Vintage and Antique razors and can't justify keeping it. I have it for sale in the BST on DFS.......
Thanks for the response Dave. I really like the Blackland Blackbird and Brassbird. But I know what you mean about vintages. Such a great operator experience from something so old, can’t beat it!

Pre: shower, wash with Pears transparent, Proraso green pre.
Brush: Yaqi Moka Express
Soap: Extro Arancia Italiana
Razor: Pearl Flexi v6 just arrived, with thanks to @Tony'schin
Blade: Astra SP (1)
Post: Cien Hydroage, Álvarez Gómez AdC Concentrada

Post lady caught me in the shower, but knowing what she had on board I ran down in my dressing gown much to her amusement and took delivery of the Pearl Flexi I bought from Tony. Couldn't wait to try it out, in spite of a very close shave with the Fatboy late morning yesterday. So it didn't have much work to do.
I put in an Astra SP so that I can (not today) compare with the fatboy. But having gone in feet first yesterday I decided I would start at the mild end with this one. This razor really is a lovely piece of engineering, feels built like a tank, much heavier than the fatboy. A little more fiddly to load, but feels solid.
I had previously had a break from the Proraso pre, on the basis it doesn't do much apart from cool your face, but I just fancied another go. Likewise the Arancia Italiana, I got it into my head that it irritated my skin, but maybe that was more to do with the shave, as I did not find anything adverse today, and it was lovely to welcome back that gorgeous orange smell.
Set the Pearl to 1 initially for WTG. That was milder than Mother Theresa's Greek yoghurt. Up to 2 for the next pass and again it felt smooth and mild but still effective. This may be the smoothest shave I've had. If I had to criticise something, I would wonder whether the satin finish on the top cap maybe 'pulls' a bit compared to the smoother shiny Gillette razors. Is that a thing?
Not the end of the world given how comfortable the shave was, but interested to hear others opinion on satin finish. I made the lather a little wetter to compensate.
All in all, happy days.
