Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Astra SP, 2nd use
Brush: Knothead Brush Works 26mm AP Shave Co. Synbad
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: Yaqi/Master Soap Creations Hypnotic Blue Puck
Aftershave: Yaqi/Master Soap Creations Hypnotic Blue Aftershave
Balm: Baxter Of California Aftershave Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

Another new soap arrived to try and it is a lovely light medium scent. The base as ever is excellent from Master Soaps but I wish the soap was a little stronger, like the splash. The Tech is two shaves in and nothing but a dream! My den is soon to be one razor heavier!

Trying it out with a modern handle, I see.

All Shaves with a 1924 have to be given your undivided attention, otherwise mishap is likely to occur. I managed to avoid mishap and though I was pleased with the finish on the face, I did not get it right around the neck at all. Definitely I got a better result with the Micromatic yesterday.

Nice enough soap for a pleasurable scent, creaminess, and slickness...
Nice enough shave with this razor plate and blade combination. Easy smooth and efficient enough in 3passes for a mostly bbs finish. Excellent aftershaves!

Fantastic shave this morning, yesterday's didn't last as long so this morning had plenty to mow down. The chubby whipped up a fantastic lather with the MdC and was releasing quite happily. I didn't need a third pass but as the stars seemed to have aligned I couldn't help myself. There was enough left in the brush for a fourth pass but that might have been going a tad too far.

Excellent finish and ready for the day ahead!

Hope everyone has a grand day!

Cheers

Thursday evening's shave which is delivered to your screens late (Cos I'm crap) with the theme 'Party! party! party!'

20220112_182705.jpg

Afternoon tea party - Rocnel SE-P
Birthday party - 0.573521% of a Dorco Prime
Garden party - AP Shaving 24mm Cashmere
Works party - Abbate y Mantia Krokos
Sex toy party - Abbate y Mantia Krokos splash

A rare day out for the Rocnel 'Rabbit killer'. A razor with scare mongering built in and the sole cause of the demise of so many bunnies in Watership Down. Off film of course. But the biggest mystery in the world of cinematography is without a doubt...........

Leporidae aside and back to the gentle art of shaving. Probably not so gentle in some ways as the SE-P is more than capable of delivering mass collateral damage if not treated with respect. I am talking the kind of blood shed which would take a whole roll of toilet paper to stem, not just a little dampened corner of a sheet torn off. But treat with kid gloves and this razor will deliver a shave with ridiculously close results.

The Krokos with the AP Cashmere always was going to be a winner and expectations fulfilled.

A full three passes (although the second two are just 'because you can') and an amazing stupidly close shave which walked the line between 'smooth' and 'ripped'. But a very happy line. Exceptionally dodgy with ATG around the chin and along the jaw line, but holding ones breath for several minutes goes a long way. And a long way to a very reddened face. End results felt like a side of wet fish followed by mutterings of 'stupid, stupid, stupid', but Hell, wonderfully stupid.

A cold rinse, a massage of witch Hazel, a dab of moisturiser and a good wet of the Krokus splash and hey, happy bunnies all the way. And no rabbits were killed during this shave.

Have a great weekend ahead and to welcome the days in some obscure thrashy girls. make what you want of it

As a final note I would like to invite you all to a 'Bring your own bowl shaving party' at my place in the summer.

Invites by e-mail in due course and no photographic equipment please

Razor: Seygus Zeppelin 0.7/0.7/0.5
Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp stainless
Soap: Mitchell's wool fat
Brush: Yaqui Sagrada
Post: Alum, Floid new formulation

Experimenting with Gillette 7 o'clock Permasharp stainless. Start to really appreciate this blade, I think it's quite balanced in terms of comfort and sharpness. Even with my tricky Seygus I did not get any nicks or irritation.
I keep fixed the Mitchell's soap, I just love it.
Good start of the weekend mates!

Soap: Bond Retro Style Cream
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Sagrada Familia Tuxedo
Razor: Merkur 34C HD
Blade: Gillette Nacet (2)
Post: Bond Retro Style ASL, RSC Balm.

No fuss shave from the Bond Retro combo. OK performance from the Nacet, but it sits below the Super Blue and Winner Gillettes through the 34C for me - closer to a London Bridge. I'll have to look back at which other razors it's been paired with, as I remember being mightily impressed with the Nacet at some point in the past

A new brand of soap, for me, it has a very pleasant scent, though quite light, and produces a good slick lather. Three passes and a good smooth finish. A satisfying shave all round.
