Prep: Warm shower PAA ICE Cube
Brush: PAA Phantom
Soap: B&M Terror
Razor: PAA Phantom Blue Slant
Blade: Voshkod (1)
Post: Cold Water, Terror Splash and Balm

Cooling shave this morning, not massively cold but enough to wake me up. A little irritation on the neck, my own doing as I did rush it at the end. Tingly but still smooth and ready for the day!

Hope everyone has a grand Sunday!

Cheers

29/8/21

Soap - Stirling Sheep
Brush - Yaqi Sagrada Tuxedo 24mm
Razor - Gillette Rocket
Blade - Gillette Platinum (3)
Post - Benjamins Bay Rum w/Pimento

I took a tiny amount of Stirling Sheep, pressed it against the back of a lid, loaded it to my brush and built the lather on my face and even with the tiniest amount of soap I had enough glossy, slick, dense and voluminous lather for maybe about 4 passes! I'm really impressed with the quality of the lather, but it seems everytime I have used Stirling I seemed to have picked up a few weepers in the shave, maybe I am using too much soap and not enough water? For my next Stirling shave, I will try to keep in mind to use even less soap than I did for today's shave.

The combination of Gillette Platinum and Gillette Rocket produced a delightfully smooth and efficient shave. I finished the shave with Bens Bay Rum splash, there was more than enough post shave residual slickness to not need to use a balm.

Anyway gents, I hope you have a good Sunday.

I enjoyed my previous shave with the Gold Tech but after a day and a half, I felt the need for another shave, even if that meant a late night tidy up, last night.

Out came the 1953 Gillette Super Speed, and as I've had excellent results with a Kai blade, that's what I used with it. As before, this combination shaved so close! Possibly too close!

The soap worked a treat, I'd forgotten how well Goodfella's soaps perform and the PAA Peregrino brush whipped up a supreme topping! The Sea Citrus' ozone freshness was once again matched with the delightful Phoenix & Beau Trafalgar. I really will have to go carefully with that splash, as it's no longer being made. Such a shame. :(

Razor: Gillette Super Speed 1953 -Y3
Blade: Kai (1)
Soap: Goodfella's Smile Sea Citrus
Brush: PAA Peregrino
Pre-shave: PAA Cube
Post-shave: P&B Trafalgar
Bowl: Captain's Choice Cobalt Blue

@Crossan I do love a nice colour coordinated SoTD! You've got a nice PAA blue theme going on there. Truth be known, I only bought my Moka Express to go with my orange Koraat, Extro Arancia etc. But actually it's a lovely little brush.
Ha ha cheers, to be fair that was precisely why I got the slant (and I wanted a slant type razor for the collection) after I had unintentionally gathered a collection of blue things lol

Lucky Tiger face tonic

A very pleasant Sunday shave, close and comfortable. The Green Ray brush is my least resilient synthetic brush, almost floppy, but it produces a fabulous lather every time. Great stuff.

Rooney 1/3 Ivory Finest (26/55)
Penhaligon's Lords shaving soap (tallow)
Wolfman WR2-SB 0.95/WRH3
Jewel Sheffield Super Stainless Steel (2)
Penhaligon's Lords aftershave (vintage)

The blade was somewhat less rough today, but not really smooth. It reminds me of a Dorco.

soap - Vitos Eucalyptus - tallow and lanolin
post - witch hazel
a/s - 4711

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
Boots Albany 'Mentholated' Shaving Soap (Vintage)
Yaqi Dandelion w/Cashmere Synthetic 24mm
Yaqi AC (AKA Raster) w/Red Horseman Swing Handle
Feather Professional (6)
4711 Aftershave

Chuffing lovely, that vintage Boots soap. It's most certainly got that unobtainium that can only be found in vintage. Lovely lather. super slip! The fragrance is lightly floral with lilac coming to the fore, to my nose. Gently mentholated, certainly by today's standards and more like a gentle waft of cooling than a face-freezer.

First, for me, with the 4711 Aftershave. I've used their Original Cologne a good deal and really like it. I really hoped that the aftershave was not neutered, and was not disappointed ... super blast of 4711 with a good sting in the tail. Very happy with this purchase.

Aug. 29, 2021 - MMOC day 29... and birthday!

GEMsOfWisdom

Another day, another good shave. Water up here definitely makes a difference - the soap seems to lather even easier than usual and explodes with more lather than usual - by the looks of it that is, since I don't really measure it properly.

3 passes and bit of tidying up on the neck for BBS. Birthday BBS - First birthday shave since I started wetshaving... shame it wasn't too exciting - same setup as since beginning of August. Blade performed well enough - slight tugging here and there when going ATG but it's more than bearable - definitely still better than GEM side. I'm guessing I could potentially get about 10 more shaves without having to strop it... but you never know! 29 shaves in but still dealing well enough with my hair.

Aftershave brought slight bit of stinging probably due to having to buff out some places. But all is good.

Been around department stores today and had a good sniff at some perfumes. Creed, Parfum the marly, Initio.... all are great though! Love the Creed original Vetiver as well as Erolfa. PDM I actually like their Layton, Herod, Pegasus and Carlisle. Initio oud for greatness is another awesome one... Same as absolute aphrodisiac and blessed baraka. Ugh the fragrance world opened the door and it's another rabbit hole! Hate it but love it at the same time! Really need to get some samples in seeing as near where I live there's no department stores where I could try some of this stuff...

Now time for some birthday drinks I guess!

Enjoy your shaves Ladies and Gentlemen!

Happy Birthday Simon,

You are allowed to get a little tipsy, order some shaving soaps online and fall asleep, only to forget what you ordered until your postie delivers them to you.
