SOTD : Saturday 12th June to Friday 18th June 2021.

17 June 2021 - Early this morning, been manic
Prep: Shower
Pre: Nivea stubble moisturiser
Brush: Omega boar bristle - cheap one I bought both Dad's for Sunday
Soap: Stirling Executive Man
Razor: Merkur 34C
Blade: Personna Platinum
Post: Stirling unscented Balm followed by Executive Man aftershave splash

Pretty similar to my last shave, I think I may have to apologise to both dad's on Sunday, the brush was very, very thirsty and swallowed soap galore, only just lathering nicely.
Smell great though.
Boar brushes take a while to break in and perform at their best. I wouldn't worry about the lather hogging for the first few shaves - it's part of the journey

I will make damn sure it continues to elude me! The Schick Injector is as far off the beaten path that I'm willing to go, and I only very recently stepped off that far!!!

Thursday 17th June

Soap • Proraso Green
Brush • Yaqi Purple Haze Mew Brown
Razor • Rockwell 6C R3
Blade • Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Post • Prorasso Green ASL
Scent • Dunhill Fresh EdT

Tried and tested set up today.
It's been nice to have given the 6C a run out recently.
Owning multiple razors sometimes means that some don't get used very often.
Prorasso Green is dependable, the soap seems to last forever too.
Finished with a spritz of Dunhill Fresh EdT - it matches it's name - Fresh, clean and uplifting.

No photo today, but have some Kris on me

Freedom's just another world for nothing left to lose - Nothing ain't worth nothing but it's free

They don't write 'em like that any more . . .

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
TDS Juniper Shaving Soap
Semogue SOC Butterscotch 24mm Boar
Muhle Rocca R96
Dorco Prime STP-301 (1) Korean
Puig Quorum Aftershave

Not a lot written about the Dorco Prime blade, so straight off the back of three shaves with their regular ST-300/301 I thought I'd follow on with the Prime (coded as STP-301). Well, if it's not the same blade it's very close. I should also note that the LEA branded blades are in fact these Dorco Prime blades.

Enjoyed! It's sharp enough, smooth, comfortable and forgiving.

This evening's 19th century frolics was kindly donated by the theme 'June Airs by Bernie (Bernadette) Bronte'

IMG_20210617_185409.jpg

Mr Brocklewurst - Rocnel SE-50
Miss Scratchard - 0.452783 of a Dorco Prime blade
Blanche Ingrain - Steven Jagger 30mm Cashmere
Adele Variations - MDC Rose
St. John Hairy Rivers - Czech and Speake C88

It is indeed June and the air is full of the scent of roses. However, not in my garden as I uprooted all the rose bushes last year in the great battle of the backyard. Oh my roses, my roses, how no more do your exquisite scents fill my air with your sweet and delicate taints. But the bathroom is a good second best and so an abundance of roses it was to be. And what a better place to start this evening's frivolities by the sink than the MDC Rose soap. A rose by no other name. Except Martin De Candre of course. Brought to loves light by the monster Cashmere brush with its swagger and swank enough to make any Rose blush and cream. And it did. A face full of loves delight (only mentioned in the appendix)

Enter Lord Rocnel with his brash and cutting mannerism. A swish here and a swish there, here a swish, there a swish, everywhere a swish swish (chapter 5 'Love and swishing).

A bit of break here from the general storyline as I really want to know who this jerk is who published a video on the web entitled 'The world's most dangerous razor'. It becomes obvious the man is clown shoes and shouldn't be placing any shaving videos on the web as the man knows little about the subject. Yes this razor ain't fluffy and it ain't friendly, but take your time, get it right, take it easy and probably the closest smoothest shave one could ever wish for. It is a God among a few other Gods.

It did its swishing act to aplomb and delivered one heavenly close and smooth finish in two passes. WTG and ATG. I just couldn't see any reason to go into yet another pass as there was bugger all left to shift. Except a couple of layers of skin, and that wouldn't have enamoured the ladies too much. The term 'red faced' might have taken a whole new meaning. As it was, not one drop of blood shed in the name of love and only perfection remained. Rosamond Oliver (someone else coming to terms with their sexuality) lay among the roses feeling exhausted and flush, and unfortunately very uncomfortable. Roses are not a good place to lay naked in even if someone had said 'More pricks than you could ever handle'

So a great shave and a spray of C88 just added to the frolicking among the roses. Shaving heaven

And that bit of the story no one ever mentions

So to end it all time to sign out with some Blistar and a song which kind of bounces along. Enjoy

And don't even get me going on 'Withering Heights' by Bernie's brother William. A story of love, despair and erectile dysfunction

You cheated. You used a whole Prime

I saw you split yours ... pop the other half behind your ear for later o_O

Van Gogh did that and it didn't appear to do him any good.

On a more honest slant. In terms of the ultra aggressive stance of the Rocnel the Prime works an absolute treat. It kind of balances out the nature of the razor.
