SOTD : Saturday 23th January to Friday 29nd January 2021.

Good evening everyone. I hope you're all well.

Soap - Martin de Candre Vetyver Sample
Razor - Progress 2 then 4 and 4
Brush - Dcosmetic Badger
Blade - Sputnik #3
Post - Alum and Proraso Blue
Splash - TGS Abysso

First time with this soap and I'm impressed, scent not that strong but lathers up beautifully and performed well.
All in all a good smooth shave, a small weeper from a mole on my neck but nothing that the alum couldn't sort out (very little feedback from the rubdown).

Stay safe fellas!!

No, I was the guy in the outfit.

Wed 27th SOTD
Soap Phoenix & Beau Imperial Rum
Brush Yaqi 24mm Mountain Lake 2 Band Badger
Razor Parker SemiSlant on a Yaqi Handle
Blade Derby Usta 1st
Post & aftershaves Ice Water + Thayers + Hyaluronic + Clubman GentsGin
Nice lather from the soap. Creamy, slick, and nice but mild scent.
The shave with razor paired with the blade was very good. Very smooth and comfortable for 3passes even atg@difficult areas without any issues for a mostly BBS result. Excellent aftershaves! The lead for today's shave is the razor/blade combo. Rating 10/10!

Tuesday 26th January

Cream - Creightons
Brush - YaqI 24mm Tuxedo Marble Handle
Razor - RazoRock Game Changer .84-P
Blade - PolSilver Wizamet Stainless (5)
Post - Nivea 2 Phase Aftershave

A good result, but I'd pushed the blade to it's limit - not as smooth as it was on it's 4th shave.
Creightons shave cream has it all, and for only £2 or so for a tube it's good value.
Nivea 2 Phase to finish.

Prep: Shower, followed by Palmolive Olive Soap
Soap: Stirling Hipster (sample)
Brush: 24mm Yaqi Mysterious Space Tuxedo
Razor: Gillette Super Slim Twist 1974
Blade: Bolzano Superinox Inossidabile (2)
Post: Alum, 4711 Cologne, Nivea balm

Back on the Super Slim - I was definitely over-critical after the Treet blade was very unpleasant with it. As for the Bolzano? Italian name, German engineering, Swedish Steel. More a mongrel than the best each country has to offer! Serviceable but not one I'd put on the go-to list. I'd all but forgotten about this Yaqi - picked up as a "defect" from AliExpress for a few quid, and it's as good as my Sagrada Familia (same knot?) Hipster smell's actually become a favourite, after initial doubts.
All in all, a nice return to a happy shave after a couple of misses recently :giggle:

For you @Satanfriendly - Ms. Perske looking sultry - I don't think she ever looked any other way?

Yesterday:

prep - facial scrub
razor - ATT Calypso - R plate
blade - Med Prep (?)
brush - Simpson Trafalgar T2
soap - Ach Brito Mogno
post - witch hazel
a/s - Epsilon
balm - De Vergulde Hand.

All good - long overdue - an eight day growth coming off. I feel human again. I had noticed a lot of positive comments about the Mogno soap - so was delighted when a fellow member generously offered to send me a bar to try. It is indeed very good - does the job well. It is a wee bit different to other inexpensive hard soaps - La Toja, DVH, Lea, that sort of thing - as it has a distinct scent - other than just soap. A nice light cologne/ozonic thing. Very pleasant. It reminds me of the Valobra shave stick in terms of performance - that's a compliment in my opinion. The only criticism I could make - why on earth did they decide to sell it as a bar? Fair enough - I could grate it into a container - but that falls firmly into the 'life is too short' category of activities for me. I'll need to find something to keep it in - there is a beautiful antique ceramic dish in the window of Oxfam round the corner - a butter dish? Looks the perfect size. Problem - it isn't bastarding open - and probably won't be for quite some time. Such is life - have good shaves one and all - and stay safe. Yours - I.

@Paul L - thank you mate.

What a shave!
Great lather from the Vintage cream, i bowl lathered today and face painted the goodness onto the chin.
The razor does not take current blades as the top cap posts are too thick, therefore, i use the cap from a Merkur 23C, just ensure the blade is sitting correctly and off i went. Very Mild and efficient, i can feel the blade doing its stuff, i find this with these Vintage blades but its so smooth.
I completed 3 full passes for a lovely BBS finish.
A nice post shave routine to close off, all very nice.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.
