SOTD Saturday 05th Sept to Friday 11th Sept 2020

Day 7 of Signature September

Razor- Rex Ambassador
Blade- Rapira Platinum Lux
Brush- Yaqi Sagrada Familia
Soap- Signature Valentia
Post- Thayers Cucumber & Nivea sensitive balm

3 passes and a really nice shave. This blade is one of the vast selection @pjgh sent me and this is another one that gets the thumbs up. Done the job with ease although I don't think they're a blade I'd buy a large quantity of.

I have to admit when I seen the vetiver on the soap I was worried having used a vetiver soap before which I didn't like at all. Not this one. Maybe the other scents are more dominant just. Another good performer.

An all round nice shave :)

Have a good night one and all.

Razor - Alu Karve - D plate
blade - Nacet (3 or 4?)
brush - Stirling two-band - fan - butterscotch
soap - Proraso - Sandalo
post - cold water
a/s - Floid - Mentally Vigorous
balm - none
scent - Homme De Caron

A highly instructive shave - there are always things to learn - about our craft - I was in a desperate hurry - I needed to shave - multi-day beard - but only had limited time - one pass - ordinarily I do two - including the shower - it takes me 40 odd minutes - for the full ritual - no such luxury today - a single pass - my normal first pass - for me - wtg down to my jawline - and then - atg up to the jaw. Then I would repeat that reversed. Sounds odd - I know - against conventional wisdom - but suits my beard growth. I had to dispense with hot and cold rinses - just the latter - no witch hazel - Floid splash - then no balm. Do you know what? - I could feel very little difference from the 'full fig' - visually well shaven - I could feel a wee bit of bristle in my problem spots - annoying - granted - not - bbs - but nobody else would know. Most of the result with half - or even less - the effort.

Enjoy your shaves gentlemen - have a good week - yours - I.

Oh - I just can't seem - at the moment - to get beyond the Proraso Sandalo soap - it just works superbly - for me - each to their own - that is - also - apparently true of the alu Karve - this is a razor I am going to use for an extended period - 20 or 30 shaves - with differing blades. Using a razor that suits you - and using it for - relatively speaking - ages - I've done this with several - has helped my shaving no end. Get to know your razor - for me - when you first enter the trade - it is too easy - when you have bought loads of stuff - to pick and choose - you can have too much choice - I have a lot of razors - but - I have discovered the value - of finding the full potential of each one - time well spent. From the top of my head - Calypso M - Merkur 37C - Gillette Slim - Rockwell - Progress and Megress - not to start on the single edges.

Finally - finally - as good a two-band brush as you are going to find at this price point. Gel tips - short loft.

Cream - Sweyn Forkbeard - Vanilla and Tobacco Leaf
Brush - New Forest
Razor - MÜHLE R89
Blade - Wilkinson (5)
Post - Saponificio Varesino AS - Cubebe (sample)

I decided to bowl lather today as my face still felt a bit tender from yesterday brush burn trying to lather MWF. A nice comfortable two and a half pass shave. Feeling nice and smooth.

Greetings,

Early morning shave,

It's been a considerable amount of time since i last used my Merkur 39c slant like my Parker 55sl Semi-Slant, it paired together with the Treet Black Carbon blade wonderfully resulting in a 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.

The Maca Root Cream is becoming a firm favourite of mine again since i recently reaquainted myself with it. Superb shaving cream.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Stay safe, and enjoy your Day ladies & gentlemen.

Brush Simpson Trafalgar T3
Soap Squadron Red Lead
Razor RazoRock Game Changer .84-P
Blade Gillette Nacet (3)
Post Old Spice Original ASL

I keep the Squadron Red Lead soap hidden away to save me from using it all up
It was a very generous gift from @TomG , sent all the way from Australia.
It is one of my favourite soaps - always performs well with whichever brush I use.
The Trafalgar T3 whipped it up in no time, with much more lather than required.
This will be the end of my run with the Game Changer - around 15 shaves on the bounce.

Tue 8 SOTD
Soap OSP BayRum
Brush Yaqi 24mm Aqua Tuxedo
Razor RazoRock German 37 Slant
Blade Gillette Nacet Stainless 2nd
Post & Aftershave
Ice Water + Special Thayers Mix
Hyaluronic + Bootleg BayRum
What a great soap! Just a brief 20sec load from the tub result in a super creamy and slick lather. Scent for me is amazing!
Shave with razor paired with the blade was very nice. Sharp, smooth, comfortable and efficient. 3+1 passes and bbs result. Icy water rinse followed by Thayers then Hyaluronic and lastly my own mix of boot leg BayRum...the original Clubman VIBR is too strong with clove so after mixing...so much better! Rating 10/10!

PreShave: Warm to hot water—most from the boiled kettle, some from the tap
Cream: T&H Sandalwood
Brush: Kent BK8
Bowl: My recycled T&H cream bowl
Razor: Futur (4, 3, 1.5)
Blade Astra Platinum (4)
Post Shave: Alum

It was a rainy morning when I started to shave, and autumn is nigh. So I opened up a tub of sandalwood for the autumn and winter. Anyway, have a good day folks.

Tabac Tuesday

Pre - Shower / Face wash
Soap - Tabac
Brush - New Forest
Razor - Gillette Slim
Blade - Blue Gillette Extra Vintage (2)
Treet Platinum (1)
Post - Saponificio Varesino Mirto Di Sardegna AS Followed by moisturiser

During the first pass, the vintage blue seem to tug quite a bit, changing it seemed the best option. I'd read someone claiming that Treets work well in vintage razors. The Lather was fantastic, loads left over, the shave was OK. I prefer newer razors to vintage.

8/9/20

Razor - Yaqi DOC
Blade - Voskhod (2)
Brush - Yaqi Plissoft 24mm
Soap - MWF
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Balm
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh

Until quite recently, I used to use my vintage Gillettes for around 90% of the time but now I seem to use them around 99% of the time and for today's shave I thought a little variety could be quite a good thing and used my neglected Yaqi DOC which used to be one of my favourite razors. In the shave today, I found the combination of razor and blade to be a little tuggy, and it wasn't the smoothest shaver even though the results were good in the end. I think the Yaqi DOC might be better suited with a slightly sharper blade.
A delightful lather with the Yaqi Plissoft and MWF though, the post shave of the soap is exceptional. My face really felt great at the end of the shave.

Anyway chaps, I hope you have a good day.
