Something i never do, a first for everything i used.

So my first ever Williams Wednesday and to do the Honors, My newly Adopted Kampfe Star and @jayaruh #355 Brush.
I bloomed the puck while taking a shower and the New JR brush made short work of a nice smelling lather, not too strong but very clean, lemon smelling, the lather was not heavy but looked pretty good not foamy at all. On the chin it went, a little more work on the face and my face had a good covering.
Heeding advice from forum members i had fitted a "used" Gem (well used actually). The first pass WTG went really well again from advice i used the razor flat to my face and gently searched for the angle - success, i have audio!! the blade cutting and not tugging at all, using short strokes i completed the pass without incident.
The lather held well in the bowl and i did the same technique of working it onto the chin where it gave a good covering again, this stuff is OK, and the brush is a joy to use.
2nd pass XTG using short strokes again went without incident, i was mindful around the tiny nick scab on my bottom lip.
Success.
I decided to stop there with the Lather catcher as i did not want to push it.
I would say that it was a sociably acceptable finish from 2 passes.
As i like a DFS+ / BBS finish and i had plenty of lather left i completed an ATG buffing pass with the New Stainless Karve to finish off, very nice.
I really enjoyed that, a very involving shave and i am left with a great face feel and i smell top notch.
There is something special about using a vintage razor that gives me a sense of achievement, i am always smiling during the shave and wonder at how damn good they are.
Have a great Day All.

"Tabac Tuesday"

Brush - Zenith Euro X
Soap - Palmolive Stick
Razor - Wilkinson Sword Classic
Blade - 7AM Sharp Durablade Platinum (2)
Post - Witch Hazel/Nivea Cooling Kick Balm w/Menthol
AS - Bens Bay Rum Menthol

A much better shave today with the 7AM in the Wilko opposed to yesterday's Tech, it's not the greatest blade in the world though reminds me a lot of the Shark SS.

This E2 is a very smooth Shaver at the best of times, with the Dutch Schick it moves to a different level.Just one of those Shaves that makes you smile. Going to be hard to follow it up.

Hiya,

Oh man, that little bloodsucking bastard was the first injector I ever tried many years ago and it almost kilt me! Hah, walked around with a red face for about a week before saying screw this. Damn thing put me off trying any other injectors for a few years.

Saying that, it's hard to figure how popular those older aggressive versions are......

After the usual 1-2 minutes hot towel prep:

Colonel Conk super badger
1972 Black Beauty/Super Iridium
Salter Vetyver shaving cream
no after shave needed
no EdT this morning.....pretty boring

Whew doggies, this razor is addictive! Been using it most days for a while now with a few different blades and dang, I could use this ever day (until getting bored).

Recently acquired this new to me Salter brand and it performs quite well. Scentwise, still on the fence and the Col Conk brush has become a favorite. Found that inna store a while back and hadda buy the silly thing and glad I did.

BBS results,

Martin

Moss Anniversary Slate scuttle
Rooney Emillion 2 Porcelain-Jade Finest (26/54)
Brooks Brothers shaving soap (vintage)
Gillette New Long Comb/Bob's Razor Works Amboyna Burl
Wilkinson London Bridge (2)
Barrister & Mann Cologne Russe aftershave

One of the undervalued soaps, the Brooks Brothers makes great lather, especially when built with a wonderful brush.

Well I haven't had a lot of journal posts as of late just a lot going on. I have been inputting everything into the Shaving Buddy app which keeps all my stats etc. So today I decided I would get back to posting. Reached for a favourite of mine today though it comes up in rotation sparingly. The Merkur 45 is considered by most to be a great travel razor due to its light weight and size and I agree wholeheartedly. I love this razor period and it was the third razor I ever owned. It is a smooth shaver that just mows down the beard quite effectively. No weight to it so easy on the pressure but it is quite efficient. Loaded up with a Gillette Rubie.

Soap or Croap of the day was Cella another fav that seems to elude me. It's a tiny tub hidden behind the mountain of CBL goodness! Love the scent and it really is just a great lathering soap!

Got through a lovely two pass DFS/BBS and topped it off with some AdP CE. Great start to hump day.

Rating: 5 / 5

Blade: Gillette Rubie Platinum
Brush: Simpson Chubby 1

Greetings,

First day of my christmas holidays shave.

Out of all my vintage SE razors the valet VC1 i found my shaving angle after a few seconds and was instantly in charge and at ease with this vintage lady...However,i've said this many times like any other razor i shave with either vintage, modern aggressive or non-aggressive is worthy of no pressure and much respect and consideration if not, this vintage lady will bite me.

As always the monsavon soap provided a luxurious protective slick lather. The monsavon au lait is my favourite shaving soap to date. It's slick, protective and the post shave feeling it gives is superb, making each shave i've had with it a enjoyable pleasurable experience..Outstandingly good, what more can i say.

A enjoyable 3 pass + pickups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

Finishing to the shave off with a generous Splash of Calvin Klein ~ Eternity For Men ASL.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling devine.;)

Enjoy your day, ladies & gentlemen.

Prep: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap,Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Pre-Shave Cream
Brush: Rudy Vey Shavemac Three-band Silvertip Briar
Cream: DR Harris Eucalyptus
Razor: UFO Tornado / Wolfman WR1
Blade: NOS Gillette Super Silver (4)
Post: Antica Barbieria Colla Almond Oil Balm
Scent: Penhaligon's Castile

A speedy shave prior to a family Christmas Lunch. The DR Harris cream was a generous PIF from a fellow wet shaver at a recent Perth meetup.

A very close shave, but I was rushing and gave myself a nasty nick on the chin - those Super Silver blades take no prisoners when carelessly weilded. The alum block came to my rescue.
