Long week and on the verge of the long weekend here in Canada so I reached for the Merkur 34G because I love GOOOOOOLD! Loaded up with a Gillette Silver Blue and it's a thing of beauty both physically and figuratively speaking.
Today's soap was Italian Barber Amici which I tried for the first time a week or so ago. Last time I observed the scent to me light whereas this time it was a bit more pronounced. Lovely scent and a good performer. The Chubby 1 made short work of this soap and whipped up a very slick lather.
Lovely three pass BBS shave was achieved! Let the long weekend begin! It heralds the beginning of Summer! May your beers be cold, your BBQ smoking and your families and friends close! Happy shaves all!

For this Friday the theme of my shave was 'Orange. The new donkey'
Agent orange - Ikon B1 SB
Boss orange - Polsilver Lodz
Orange utang - Razorock Plissoft 400
Oranges and lemons - Extro Arancia soft soap
A Clockwork orange - Extro Arancia EDT
After the past week of relying on donkeys contributing to my shaving routine I decided donkeys are out of vogue and a return to being orange just had to be the flavour of the day. Step in those wonderful Italians and their flair for everything tasteful. Not necessarily well executed, but tasteful. Own a Moto Guzzi motorbike and you'll have an idea where I am coming from. Gorgeous to look at, gorgeous to ride but one just doesn't know what is going to fall off next. Preferably not the rider. In this case step forward Sig Extro and his wonderful shaving soaps. Not much to fall off fortunately but I am perplexed why the old gentleman on the lid has what appears to be a wood plane.
I love this stuff. Easy to pick up on the brush and easy to lather. A lather up there with the French and their donkeys and a scent just out of this world. Although I am very doubtful oranges exist much beyond our little planet.

I have said enough about the Ikon in I don't know how many previous SOTD's and whatever trash and waffle I wrote at the time still stands. Give me one razor, give me the Ikon SB. Not everyone's concept of a great razor, but to me nothing gets closer. Throw a Polsilver Lodz in to the mix simply because I am totally unoriginal and can't be bothered with anything else. @Blademonkey you are my hero. You saved me a lifetime of trialling a whole mountain of blades just to arrive at the top and to find out the climb was a wasteful journey.
To top this wonderful shave off; bring back Sig Extro and his Arancia EDT, once again wielding his wood plane on the packaging. May be he is shaving the peel off some oranges, but whatever it is; he is doing a damn fine job.
So to end a damn fine day, a damn fine shave. As smooth as Tropicana without the juicy bits and smelling every bit the equal.
