Went a bit mad on the Russian DE's today...

I only recently tried a Sputnik and man is it a smoooooooth blade!! I had good luck with the Rapira Swedish Super Steel as well. If the Sputnik is the most common blade used in Russia then I cannot understand why exportation is so small(?). It has to be about money.

I have about 1,100 Gillette Super Blues, and another 500 or so of various other brands (100 Feathers, 150 Astra SP's, 100 Vokshod, 100 Sputnik's and a ton of loose packs and partial packs) enough to fill a shirt box at any rate.

I know people that have 10-20,000 blades.

I count mine by the drawers full - three and a bit. My problem came after I had collected 'enough' blades still in production and noticed NOS blades. Now they are one sexy wormhole!

I've had a few years to aquire them. Every time a deal pops up, I order them. Did that for about five years, then realized that I had a lifetime's supply, or the next best thing to it. I haven't ordered new blades for a while now.

Got the Sputniks in a few days ago,very nice they are too,but a good bit more pricy than the dirt cheap Voskhods.Still got about 3 different sorts of Rapiras to try out mind....

Just got my first lot of 100 Gillette Rubies in!,well chuffed!,now all I need to do is try them in different razors!....

Doc Terror, I will assume you have tried the Rubie in other razors by now as well as Sputnik. Feedback?
