The workshop

Todays update

The foundations have been dug out, then bailed out after this mornings downpour. Removed over 100 litres after 2 hours of rain believe it or not.
I plan to mix and pour the foundation concrete tomorrow (saturday)

My back is fine but I have a few blisters on my hands from digging ferociously[DISAPPOINTED FACE]

Well done, sir! Were you aware that your window sill needs prepping and painting - while you've got your work clothes on you may as well. Is the lathe installed yet?

Mike, yes I have a mixer, it's done stirling work today mixing 2 tons of concrete for me.

Carl, that's a job for summer, the whole exterior is getting attention.

No, lathe is a way off yet.
Concrete floor next week then building then roof.
It'll be at least 3 weeks before the lathe is in.

Fair play mate. I used to work for a small building firm and I used to mix all the concrete with a mixer. I must have mixed well over 500 tons in the last 10 years. I know how difficult it is. Can't wait to see the finished result! Keep up the good work

Jim

I've been a busy boy the last 2 days.
Laid the first course of blocks, hardcore and blinding sand laid, visqueen laid, insulation laid and the rebar on top.
Concrete is expected to arrive first thing tomorrow.

Well I've been impatiently waiting for the concrete to go off, it's been 96 hours now and the surface is still a tiny bit soft.
I've soldiered on though and got the corners in for the second course and the dpc cut and laid.
I'll hopefully crack on tomorrow.

Ps, the skip lift was interesting, took 20 minutes. The lorry was repositioned twice and ended up with the front axle a foot in the air to lift it !.
