SOTD Saturday 5th - Friday 11th August

Bath / Nivea Men Active Clean
Gentlemens Face Care Club cream
RazoRock 400 Plissoft Noir
Merkur 34C HD
Treet Carbon (1)
Hot / cold rinse
Lavender witch hazel mixture
Proraso Green ASL
YSL Kouros

First use of this much discussed cream.
Initial thoughts, it smells quite nice.
I found it took a bit of effort to bowl lather compared with the likes of Maca Root and Truefitt etc. It did make a lush creamy lather eventually.
How does it feel? Well, it performed quite well but I don't rate it as high as Maca Root, which I consider a low priced cream.
I'll use it more but I don't think I would reach for it over Truefitt No10.
Three passes resulted in a DFS.
Kouros to finish and I'm smelling good and mostly smooth.

Thursday 10th August 2017

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso White
Razor: Timeless 0.95 straight base plate with smooth cap
Blade: Polsilver Stainless (Lodz) (#1)
Brush: Maseto 30mm 2 band finest fan shape
Soap: Czech & Speake - Oxford & Cambridge
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: None

I have now shaved with all the 0.95 base plates and the 0.68 scalloped using the scalloped cap, today was my first use of the smooth cap. Now I don't know if it was the smooth cap or just a new blade but today was the best shave yet from the Timeless.

Thursday pm

Man Cave Olivestone Facial Scrub
3P Preshave Cream
Kapo/Karo Shaving Cream
Omega S10018 Synthetic Brush
Focus Dynamic SE with Treet Durasharp Carbon blade (#2)
Lavender Witch Hazel
Nuisance Virgin Rosehip Oil
Old Spice Noir AS

Second shave with The Focus and second with the Treet Durasharp . This is an incredibly mild razor.....but it is efficient. Tonight I was ever so slightly away from a BBS shave. The razor is ideal for rushed shaves or even use when it is essential that there is no blood letting. I don't think it is possible to cut yourself with this!

Thursday's shave :)

Pre-shave - Shower and face wash with Wright's Cold Tar Soap, followed by Warm water and Village Barbour Pre-shave Oil.
Razor - ATT SE1
Blade - KAI Captain Titan Mild (Pink) (day 5),
Soap - OSP Eucalyptus & Menthol Shaving Soap.
Brush - Simpsons The Duke 2 Best Badger Hair.
Bowl - Little Wren Pottery shave bowl.
Post shave - OSP Aftershave Tonic - Eucalyptus and Menthol.

Good evening all, a very pleasant 2 pass shave this morning, with slight touch up on the chin.

The Little Wren shave bowl continues to impress!

All the best,

Chris

The corners of the cutting edge of the blade, no probs now I've rounded off the corners. :) P.

@Blademonkey Thanks, I have never used a hone stone, I'm assuming its just filing the straight edge off of the corners - a few seconds job?

Does the blade adjustment make the razor more user friendly in your view?

I'm assuming that if Roncel added 1mm to each side of the cap - that would solve the problem?

All the best,

Chris

Yes, yes and yes :) P.

@Blademonkey Cheers mate - I might get me one of those hone stones :)

I don't want to give up on the Rocnel - when I hit the sweet spot, the razor was out of this world - just looking for some consistency and no scratching / scaring from the blade.

I appreciate your feedback and posts - I thought the issues came from the spine of the blade.

All the best,

Chris
