Shaving recipe for today.
  • warm shower./ Cien Classic shower Gel & Shampoo. / warm wet flannel to my face.
  • Razor: Frankenrazor-Gillette tech Aluminium Handle/Muhle R41 Head.
  • Blade:Astra Superior Stainless. (New)
  • Brush: Semogue 1470.
  • Soap: Proraso Sandalwood + 4 drops of glycerin in mixing bowl.
  • Warm wet flannel/ cold wet flannel to rinse my face.
  • Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel/ Boots Freshwood Aftershave Balm.
  • Post: David Beckham Instinct A/S.
  • It's been a while since i used my Frankenrazor set up,the Gillette tech Aluminium handle pairs up brilliantly with the Muhle R41 head..the proraso provided me with excellent protection & slickness for a 3 pass shave with no errors to start the first September weekend off to a fine start. Simple Vetiver themed shave this morning! I haven't used my PAA Dirty Cupcake soap in ages. Really enjoyed that straight up dirty vetiver mixed with a bit of vanilla scent to it.

As one of the early S/S Razors , I am not sure that I could get a better shave with one of the modern
versions. Though it is very smooth in use , it is also very efficient and I can get a very quick but close shave with it every time. Despite being only capable of using a single blade , it outperforms the Schicks that I have tried out with a Twin Blade , only wish a Type O would come by.

Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDP: Miller Harris Noix de Tubereuse (tester)

This is a very nice fragrance another one aimed at women but perfectly suitable for men, perhaps more ideally suited for evenings but as a P.O.P. (poor old pensioner) I tend not to venture very far at night, so for me day wear it is. :rolleyes:

Soap: The Fat (you gotta)
Face lather, cold water rinses between passes
Post: alum block, Thayer's Rose and Aloe Vera Witch Hazel, Proraso a/s
Smell: Encre Noire
Music: Brian Eno Another Green World

Feeling autumn-esque in post-festival Edinburgh. Moving towards woody, heavier smells; hence the vetivers.
Another great combo of a mild razor and sharp blade. I don't know whether this rinsing the blade in cold water really does make a qualitative difference; but it just seems to be even better, imo.

Soap.. P&B Albion
Post..Thayers AF WH
EDP..Oud 24 hours

Performed my usual three passes plus clean up, I found the Gillette not to be as smooth in this razor but it still gave me a lovely shave and left me smooth with zero irritation. The soap was wonderful with a great scent, my first time using P&B but it won't be my last.
