Pre: Proraso green pre-shave cream
Soap: Art of Shaving Lemon (tallow)
Brush: M&F L7 Butterscotch 2-band
Razor 1: Gold Dollar
Razor 2: Merkur Futur (3)
Blade: SuperMax Super Platinum (2)
Post: Myrsol Agua Balsamica

GD came back home freshly honed, very smooth and very sharp. Only brave enough for one WTG pass however.
First time using an AoS soap. Lathered well, slick and cushiony but it made my skin dry after each pass. Very odd.

Saturday

Afternoon, everyone.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Weishi TTO
Blade: Feather (1)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: La Toja in a bowl
Aftershave: Ice Dive
Cologne: Rive Gauche Intense

A perfectly good shave, but I really had to work for it. Even after the many, many passes I'm a bit stubblier than usual though visually you can't tell. Not sure I want a week of this.

Hot shower
Hot flannel
Catie's Bubbles Fouet L'Orange scuttle lathered
Finest Badger brush made by myself
Gillette 1928 New Improved gold
Sputnik (1)
Cold rinse
Thayers Lemon witch hazel
Myrsol Lemon aftershave

A grand shave from the New Improved and Sputnik combination. The Catie's Bubbles and Myrsol paired together very well for the Citrus theme of the shave.

Hot shower
Honey soap face wash
A good hard face exfoliation with a dougal
Ingrams

The derby was ok and the second shave with it was better than the first.
Sharks and astras are still my two faves so far

Prep: Hot shower
Pre: Zirh pre-shave oil
Soap: Grandstaff Illipe/Cocoa Butter Soap (sample)
Bowl: Woodhead Pedestal
Brush: Omega boar 10005
Razor: Weber + Bulldog
Blade: Personna 74 (7)
After: Brut AS, St. James Mandarin & Patchouli gel

Well this blade lasted 7 shaves for me. Today it felt noticeably less comfortable than yesterday and the result was a fair amount of irritation on my neck. I did give a BBS result though but I think I'll throw in the flannel at 7 shaves, it's not worth the grief of pushing it further. Pretty good going as I never usually go over 3 shaves, but not as good as the reported possible 20 to 30 shaves. I might try it again some time in the future but I've got a few Russian blades to try in the meantime.

This Grandstaff soap is pretty special; a bit like Stirling but a kind of a less oily lather. The scent is wonderful - Cocoa butter, almond, coconut and I sense a touch of caramel. Has to be one of my best lathers and truly unforgettable.

Not impressed with St. James Mandarin & Patchouli gel as an after shave balm. It's so light I'm not sure it does anything at all! Maybe I should reserve this for hot summer's days when an ASB is not really needed but then again why bother.

Enjoy your weekend folks.

Prep: cold water and Proraso Sensitive pre shave
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: Palmolive stick
Razor: Ever ready flat top (g bar) with gem coated stainless steel (4)

Been trying out cold water shaves for the last week, seem to be helping to keep down the razor burn. Though that could be my technique is slowly getting better.
Second shave with the g bar managed to snag myself the first time but this time great shave result near bbs which will hopefully pass muster in the morning as up early to help run a petanque tournament.

Enjoy your Sunday
