Tuesday

Afternoon, everybody.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Junjie TTO
Blade: Dorco ST-300 (4)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave cream: Super Max
Aftershave: Pashana Bay Rum
Cologne: Aventus knock-off

Easy and close.

I realised after my shave today, that I'm getting close to a complete Vintage shave. Next one will be with some unnamed shave soap from the 50s/60s. When I get it all together I'll post a photo.

Hot Shower
Face Lather with Palmolive Stick
1950s Vintage Gillette bristle and badger travel shave brush
1920s Copy of Gillette Single Ring OC
1967 Gillette Silver Stainless blade

A couple of weepers but a DFS and a warm glow.

Prep: Village Barber Oil
Brush: Simpsons Chubby 2 - 2 Band
Soap: Stirling Barbershop
Razor: Digress (pass around 2.5)
Splash: Dr Harris Windsor
Post: Village Barber Balm /444

A lovely shave, dialled up the razor a little bit, I usually struggle when I have short stubble and get razor burn. This was lovely smooth audible and very satisfying. Finding I want a bit more weight at the tail end of things.

Cold water splash
Truefitt & Hill 1805 shaving cream
Vulfix Grosvenor reknotted w/ TGN 2-band badger
Gillette Contour w/ Slalom cartridge (1)
Myrsol Emulsion as ASB

Decided to try the metal Gillette Contour I just got in preparation of any future travel. I did my usual 3 passes and achieved a DFS. Surprisingly good shave!

Feather AC SS / ProGuard
Semogue BC Mistura
Proraso red, soap
Myrsol Agua Balsamica

Shave wasn't up to much. The Mistura was a bit scritchy, the lather looked better than it in effect was, and I wasn't paying enough attention with the Feather AC to get close. I may go for a DE tomorrow.

The Myrsol is definitely Vosene!

Tuesday

Mitchell's Wool Fat
Semogue 2012 SE
ikon Slant
Gillette 7 o'clock SharpEdge
Proraso AS

Good way to start the week. The slant is a fine way to clear a couple of day's worth of beard.

Hot Towel
Gillette Sensitive Shaving Gel
Schick J - Personna Stainless Coated [2]
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse, Alum Wash & Mentholated Witch Hazel
Quorum Aftershave
Quorum EDT

Face ... erm ... slathered?
Two Pass - WTG & XTG

I've had this can of Gillette Gel since I gave up cartridge shaving and switched to traditional shaving. Tonight, I thought: "Why not?" ...

... and so, an efficient Schick shave with some Gillette goo. Truth be told it was pretty harsh. Harsh, not rough, nor aggressive. At least I'm now getting the opposite of what I got from Schicks some months ago ... nothing! My J is a little broken and the right hand retaining tooth slips sometimes. It's very obvious when it does, but I wonder if this defect contributed overall. Maybe, maybe not.

In all, I got a shave. The alum and my mentholated witch hazel cooled everything down and then the Quorum aftershave just fed and dried everything down. I love the face feel after Quorum. Love the smell, too, hence the spritz of EDT.

The gel? Oh, the gel? Well, yes, it did its thing.

Tuesday Evening

Duke 3 Best
Cobra Classic Feather Pro (4)
Arko face lathered
Selin Lemon Cologne as an aftershave.

Simple, easy, relaxed BBS tonight. Blade is still going strong. Cologne was "Bracing" and certainly closed the pores!

After the initial sting, my skin feels pretty soft and smooth.

Have a good evening Ladies and Gents.
