Friday AM 2017-09-15

Georgetown Pottery G20 Scuttle (Jet Black)
Rooney 2/1 Ivory Finest #3 (20mm/57mm)
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet shaving soap (tallow)/BB shaving cream
Charcoal Goods Brass L1/Triad Brass Helix Round Bar

Fri 15th Sept

Vulfix 404 mixed
Vitos Super Red
PAL Injecto- Matic
NOS Schick Super Chrome coated [ 3 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Myrsol Antesol A/S Lotion

Another Shave with a PAL, this one fitted with an NOS blade. This combination is good, I think the blade is better than the Chicks so the shave is less aggressive but still efficient. The Shave went very well and the finish was extremely close all round.

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

vintage rebranded Simpsons best
UFO titanium 100m handle with Chicago Roller head/Gillette Spoiler NOS 1981
vintage Old Spice soap
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
RL 'Safari' EdT vintage juice

This baseplate has got rollers on both sides that definitely help tame the Old Type heads.
The soap is excellent....just bought a back up

BBS results,

Martin

Blade: Gem #4
Razor: Ever Ready 1912
Soap: Wickham 1912 club cola
Brush: Omega 30mm syth
Post: Wickham's aftershave balm 1912 club cola
EDT: Izzey Myake

Just a quick shave this afternoon with a single pass as I have something very, very special coming tomorrow for me to try.;).
DFS with the awesome 1912.

Love the soap and love my recent acquisition, The Omega 30mm synth. super soft and a pleasure to use.
Wickham's Balm is a great product as is the Izzey Myake.

Enjoy your shaves and have a lovely weekend! :)
That brush looks fantastic.

La Toja sensitive cream
Yaqi 24mm Tuxedo
Rockwell 6c plate 3
Astra SP 3
Proraso Green ASL

An effortless 3 passes took care of 2 days growth.
La Toja cream is as good as their shave stick for me.
It doesn't have a fancy scent, but the protection, glide and slickness take some beating.
Zero irritation and silky smooth.

Wishing you all a good weekend

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Pure Power Charcoal Face Wash and Proraso White
Razor: GEM 1912
Blade: GEM SS PTFE (#3) + Shim
Brush: Maseto 24mm finest
Soap: Pinaud Clubman
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Pinaud Clubman Lotion

Decided on a late shave today as I had the day off and spent most of it shifting about 4 cubic metres of firewood logs I just got delivered, boy am I going to feel it in the morning. At least I am all set for winter now. I finally got around to trying a 1912 with a shim, and I can now see exactly what others mean when they say it becomes smoother but also more aggressive. I have only used the Pinaud soap once before, and I got much better results this time, last time the lather seemed thin. This time is was great, it lathers up a lot like a cream. Finished off the Humphreys witch hazel so after shaving I dug out the Thayers Lavender I had stashed.
