Shave of the day Saturday 9th Sept - Friday 15th Sept 2017

Friday's shave :)

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap face wash.
Razor - Supply-SE
Blade - Personna PTFE (Day 1).
Soap - Kiehls Lite Flite Shave Cream.
Bowl - Little Wren.
Brush - Simpsons Duke 2 Best Badger.
Post shave - Myrsol "Lemon" Post Shave Splash, followed by Bluebeards Revenge Post-Shave Balm.

Possibly my best shave of the week - 3 passes, skin feels great afterwards, nice BBS.

I was genuinely surprised, the Supple-SE, based on today's shave, seemed to out perform the Sabre-SE, in terms of how good my skin felt after the shave.

All the best,

Chris

Omega 10098
Razorock Baby Smooth
Polsilver SI (3)
PAA Coconut Oud
Boots Tea Tree WH, Nivea Men Cream & Ard Al Zaafaran Oud 24 Hours

All black everything today, a very good shave but I can't get my moustache BBS without a wee nick. I think the razor is a keeper for now, love this soap the scent is just so rich and the lather top notch. PAA certainly know how to make great soaps. Wish more of them were available this side of the pond.

The silver plated Wardonia with the first Bakelite head to use exclusively the Wardonia blade dates from 1929-31. My new punch works well to modify blades for it. She gets a little tuggy in some spots ATG but mostly an excellent shave. I need more practice with the unusual geometry.

Sotd - Friday 15/3 -

Razor - Gem MM Open comb brass
blade - ER Corrux (2)
brush - Maseto 24mm 2 band
soap - Indian Old Spice
post - witch hazel
a/s - Old Spice original
balm - Russian Vitamin F.

Result - I really enjoyed that. No work on today - so I could indulge in a relaxed afternoon shave, with a serious mimsy thrown in for good measure. The MM is a fantastic razor for me - I love everything about it. The shave it gives me is stellar. First use of the Old Spice cream - does the job just fine. I don't know what it smells of but it isn't Old Spice - that's for sure. It maybe left my face initially a wee bit dry but given the miracle like qualities of the Vitamin F balm that was of no concern. The best thing about the cream is this - quoting from the text on the tube - I'm not making this up -

'For the gentleman with exceptional taste in scents, rugs (!) and TV shows.'

'Dear man - your hands were not made to carry shopping bags or stroke furry kittens (!!) however cute they may be. No, your hands were made so you can sculpt statues of yourself. Or squeeze out a a handsome amount of this smooth, man-friendly tube of Old Spice Shaving Cream. Buy it and all else will be forgotten.'

Wow - I'd better get rid of the kittens and order a large lump of marble - I'm obviously letting the side down.

Enjoy your shaves one and all - cheers - I.

Clipper DE
Personna Platinum #1
Don Marco
Midas synth

Finished work marginally early today as a result of a few later stays this week and managed to crack out the shaving kit. Lathered up wonderfully, I think I'll need to load drier next time as there was foam as far as the eye could see. Managed to wet it up into a lovely slick lather, however. Very nice scent with the bergamot and neroli. Two passes and done. I prefer a razor with more blade exposure and gap, such as this, but after nearly a week of not shaving I've ended up tingly...again. I think the Personna blade wasn't quite as sharp as I'm used to either. The Don Marco aftershave is lovely and absorbs very quickly, but doesn't quite live up to the BBA PSB in terms of reducing tingle. I'm not complaining, I smell and feel pretty great. 100% in the direction of shave, 90% going the other way. I'm happy enough with that!

Roll up, roll up!
