Yesterday I received some "5 minute epoxy" to set a plissoft type knot into a Midas #053 handle. Completed yesterday and gave a quick test today - unorthodoxly, I shook the brush holding only the knot. It stayed firm. If it can manage that it can manage whipping up lather!

Today my post person delivered my spare Gibbs number 17 Adjustable razor, possibly the best DE razor I own!

I had been looking out for Gillette Tech with a fat handle for a while and then I spotted this lot on eBay for £7.50 on a BIN listing. I think the tech is a No. 44 set, can anyone confirm this?
They all still need fully cleaning, but this is just after a quick soak in CIF foam and a scrub with washing up liquid and a toothbrush. The Slim Twist's were quite crusty and one of them looks like it was on 40 a day. The Super Adjustable came up very nicely but it looks like the doors or the safety bars are out of alignment as the gap is uneven on both sides. I sat examining it for about 30 mins and I reckon I know where it needs bending back, but I need to get hold of some feeler gauges to make sure any adjustment is correct. I only wanted the fat handled Tech so for £7.50 + postage this lot were a bargain.

Got your punch ready?My friend @Belfont received this beautiful Apollo (c.1910) on my behalf. I wonder if anyone has figured out a way to use one without the proprietary blade. I don't usually buy razors just to look at but I thought this was a beauty.
