Used an Ever Ready 1914 patent over the last two days, same GEM blade and both times with a marvellous comfortable result, bbs in 2 passes and minor pickups. My razor has been well used on its 100 year journey to me, testament no doubt to how good the razor has been and still is. If you haven’t ever used one you should.
I thought I would start my Christmas preparations early, hence the Wickham Christmas Spruce. Lovely creamy lather and easily applied with the hand made spalted beech synthetic brush.

The Highlight was the shave was brilliant.
I love the scent on the merchant, full of spices & it genuinely reminds me of walking through a bizarre.
The Brush was a @Boycie83 buy a couple of years ago.
A great little brush but i’m just not enjoying synthetics at the moment.
I love the scritch of a good boar.

As good the Gillette Blue II? Yes, and then some, but in a retro-way as the Blue II does have chrome blades; but again, if this is a retro-ride then the Blue II is a go-kart! Good, yes, but not as good as the Gillette Twinjector with a modern Schick Twin blade.
