Friday 13th September

Brush: NF Tubby 2
Soap: Arko grated
Razor: EJ89 Barley
Blade: Supermax Blue Diamond (1) with shim
Post: Witch hazel, Steve's Barbershop Bay Rum

Wonderful shave. I love these blades, they just seem to work so well for me. I have a couple of hundred already, but I think I will get some more. The lather was plentiful, but could have done with a bit more water on the first pass, but other than that it was very good. Nice and smooth for the Christmas do tonight.

Prep: Hot shower, followed by Neutrogena Razor Defense Face Scrub
Pre: Village Barber oil
Soap: Vintage Old Spice
Brush: Simpson Tulip-1 (Super)
Razor: E&J DE89 w/iKon bulldog handle
Blade: Personna Lab blue (4)
Post: Thayer's Original witch hazel
AS: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

Beautiful shave. OS lathered like a dream and blade was smooth. Warming bay rum finish and a lovely sunrise. What a great start to the day!

Friday 13th December 2013
Prep: Shower
Razor: 7 O'Clock New Head, Pearl Handle
Blade: Rapira (Pink & Blue wrapper)
Brush: Semogue 830 Boar
Soap: Monsavon
Aftershave: Astral Cream (light)

A really great shave. My first use of Monsavon and my initial thoughts are, a very decent soap that lathers without any problem in my hard water and seems to provide good slip and protection. I did not realise just how soft it is, softer than Cella for example, but with a slightly gelatinous texture, a little like a set blancmange. A slightly odd scent but as I like the scent of Tabac and Speick I guess I might be odd anyway!

Regards
Dick.

Friday morning:

Prep: Hot flannel
Razor: Merkur 34G HD
Blade: Lab Blue (Thanks Brian)
Soap: NSS Warm Spice bowl lathered
A/S: Superdrug Forest Fresh
Balm: Weleda

My first time using the Lab Blues and what a fantastic blade, so smooth, didn't even think I had a blade in at one point it was so smooth and silent. Needless to say I've just pulled the trigger on a box of 100. :icon_razz:

Thursday evening

Muhle R41 on an Ikon shavecraft handle
Astra SP
Semogue SOC boar
Cella
Aqua Velva

Nice effortless shave, I still feel quite smooth even now.

Today's birthday shave

R41
Feather Blade
MWF (Face lathered)
Kent BK8 Brush
Old Spice Splash

Result BSS no blood loss, and no rodeo riding needed.

Not bad for a 40 year old :icon_razz:

Warm shower (yes... I have to have it neither too hot nor too cold)
Proraso pre, menthol
Muhle Silvertip, MWF
Digress HD (#3; #2.5), Rapira SS (3)
Cold splash
Proraso AS cream
Gucci Guilty Black EdT

Tried out the Muhle synthetic with MWF today and it passed with flying colours... whizzed up a foam like it was a shaving cream. This is truly my "go to" brush now. Will I be selling my New Forests, Simpson, Omega? Erm... no!

Anyway... a king of shaves... despite a little mishap that I shall be posting separately.
