Saturday

Morning, gents.

Prep: Claus Porto's Lime-oil face soap
Razor: Sodial
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Brush: Ecotools Kabuki
Shave soap: La Toja in a bowl
Aftershave: Ricardo L'Homme, Black
Cologne: Azzaro pour Homme

Very nice and close start to the new shaving week. It's interesting to compare last week's Feather Portable with the Sodial: they're both Tech clones but the Feather has more bite to it than the Sodial. They both give good shaves, but the Feather produces a good result even on a one-pass ATG; the Sodial would struggle under those circumstances, I think. Perhaps I should just test it. Still loving the Silver Blues, by the way.

Face wash with Pears soap
Mergress / Rapira
M&F 1XL
Proraso Red Soap
Proraso Green A/S
Tom Ford Italian Cypress

RULE NO.1 - always take out the blade when fettling with the razor :(

Pre Shave: Hot shower
Brush: Edwin Jagger Best Badger
Soap: Proraso white
Blade: Astra SP, second sahve on this blade
Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
Post Shave: Alum block
ASB: Nivea white

A very good shave this, not especially due to any of the equipment, but due to the use of the 'J' turn shaving technique referred to in a post about slants, my second attempt at using this tecchnique and it does a very good job in not much time.

Preshave: Proraso pre / post, hot water!
Soap: Proraso Red / NF Brush
Razor: EJ89 / Gillette 7 o'clock yellow
Post: Proraso pre / post, shower
Aftershave: DR Harris Marlborough
Balm: C&E Sandalwood

Lovely three pass shave, nice and smooth and no sting when applying the aftershave. We've had a blocked sink for a couple of days so been unable to shave - now that's fixed, it's nice to get back to a presentable state!

Hi there,

That's a great bit of technique tweaking. Nothing like j hooking for whacking them rouge whiskers on parts of my neck. The other thing to try (if you don't already) is the blade buffing thingy. Best possible way to get truly BBS on my chin. Kinda like using the extra fine sandpaper to finish......heh.
